I'm new here, had the account set up ages ago and left it.

It seems single guys have a very bad reputation? Why is this?

I don't type like a 5 year old, I try and develop some conversation - not "let's fuck" (though I do have a cheeky sense of humour) and I'm not pushy. If people don't reply I leave it, and I don't contact people who's requests I don't fall within. I have a hairy chest - some people don't like that, I'm not hung like a horse and I'm not black.

So what's with the rest of them? And am I up shit creek without a paddle haha?

Like you, I don't type in "text speak", send 2 word "wanna fuck" messages, always polite etc, but still get 99% "Unread - Deleted"....It's just a lady's personal choice, that and probably getting 100+ messages everyday!

There are plenty of single ladies and couples who LOVE nice single guys and only play with them! I certainly play mostly with single guys and wouldn't bother with fab if it wasn't for them!

If you want a tip though - stay happy and positive in your statuses etc.

I know it can be fucking hard on here - but moaning statuses are off-putting for most people - and don't start threads complaining about lack of meets/interest - they never give a good impression!

Some are fucking tossers. As are some of the women, couples and TV/TS. It's just the larger overall number of men which makes it seem as though a greater proportion of them are.

I don't take it personally, if I did I would have left a long time ago. I use the site mostly for the awesome photos and the great forums these days.

I think single guys get such a bad rap simply because there's so many more of them on here. There's single women and couples who are dreadful too. It's all to do with the numbers on here.

If you're not traditionally good looking, have a great body or a massive cock, then there's a good chance you'll struggle initially. I think you have to be prepared to take your time. Be yourself. Think outside the box. And just be patient!

I've found the forums are a great place for an 'average Joe' like me to get known and make your true personality known. Women will eventually see you're not a total douchebag given time. I'd have given up on the site a long time ago of it wasn't for the forums. I too got sick of having every message deleted. It just takes us non-Adonis's longer to make an impact.

I don't think it's a massive issue and at the end of the day it's what you make of it.

I for one am relatively new to fab, only been on for 5 months.

For the first 3 months, sure it was very frustrating. Sending countless and imho decent messages without any replies.

I'm not going to lie to you, it gets to you, to the point where you start questioning yourself, thinking I'm not good enough or you start feeling sceptical about the site.

I changed my approach and lowered my expectations. Enjoy the site, the search, the anticipation and the banter that flows through many forums and chat rooms, rather than expecting to find someone to join in for sex.

I still haven't met anyone but have actually had some very nice conversations with some lovely individuals and couples. Build your bridges and something may happen.

It's not a issue with Single guys as the majority on here are searching for couples anyway.

Don't beat yourself up about it and keep trying. There are good honest people out there who will take singles on.

Hi OP, can you explain why you felt the need to point out you aren't black? Its obvious from your picture, methinks, but are you making an assumption about the black guys on here? Just so you know my frame of reference, I met my black partner on here and we are settled and have been so for a year, living together as a 'normal' couple as well as swinging together. I am not sure if he is representative of the men on here but he certainly does not stereotype any race. I think your inclusion of the line about black men could be read in different ways

OP there are a lot of single men doing just fine on here,regardless of their physical appearances.

Not all women want an Adonis or black man with a big penis. There are women who talk to men to find the attraction and are more than happy with Mr Average looking. We aren't all that ourselves you know.

Didn't mean for it to be slanderous or perceived as racism as I am certainly not racist. I love all colours. It was more that when single guys are requested there seems to be a large request for BBC and I don't have one of those haha.

We've spoken to some really lovely guys on here but unfortunately it's ruined by the masses of idiots looking for a quick fuck when our profiles explicitly states we are looking for friendship as well as sex.

Tarred by the same brush is unfair but quite often it's easier just to ignore all until someone really catches our eye.

I am glad you cleared it up as there are lots of defensive posts from single men whenever there is a discussion on black guys. I get tired of the defensiveness, to be honest - I personally think its fine for women and couples to focus on what they want. Those who want a black guy seem to fall into one of two groups, those who date black guys anyway and see them as people and those who objectify them and their cock and don't mix with black guys on a day to day. To be honest, I do get a bit fed up about being lumped in with the latter category, as not all of us who meet black guys are only interested in the cock or the fantasy.

I do t think it's about the opening messages. We don't get a lot of single guys mailing us but when we do they start off very nice, polite and charming. However, after a bit of messaging back and forth they all end up with the same crude messages about where they want to cum. It doesn't take long before this starts. I was actually going to plan a meet with a single guy and my Mrs but they spoil it for themselves.

People as whole can be complete arseholes it's not gender specific.

Keep doing what you're comfortable with & maybe use fabs in conjunction with reality like socials / clubs, don't rely on it.

We find couples are the worst on here, obviously not all couples, we will chat with some single men for the banter, other we ask them not to contact us again. Some couples tho, they think they are entitled to have sex with us, we have a block list if couples

I have been told a few times I'm not given them a chance when they message and I respond with:

I'm fully aware I don't give half the men that message me a chance, but realistically I don't have the time to, so I have to have some form of filter to those I wish to initiate conversation with. I will go by the message they sent, whether I find them attractive and their profile. It's not something I enjoy doing, but something that works for me. I much prefer meeting people face to face, which is why I'd rather go to a club and see if there's anyone I like there. As face pics don't always do justice or they make them look a whole lot better. So with messages, I have to have some form of filter as initiating a conversation with all, is just unrealistic.
