At what point does a profile become long and boring? We've added to ours since we started a year ago, as we discovered what we're into and looking for. Just wondering if it's getting a bit long winded! I know the time wasters don't read to the end anyway I think some don't even read anything just friend request and hope for the best. So, how long is too long (should rephrase that but I won't) D&T x

If a profile is long with some humour thrown in then they make a good read, long profiles are good for me as you get a clearer picture of that person/couple

Well yours is a good informative honest and interesting profile. If anything, mines too long, but it's honest and detailed . If people choose to read it all great, if not, that's ok. You can tell the ones who don't read profiles xx

When you get bored of reading it it's too long! !...that might be after a few boring sentences or it might be longer ...ive read some quirky and amusing profiles which are great reading and are pages long. ..think if you inject humour into it you're doing ok. .if its a list of dos and don'ts and negative it's too long after sentence 3 !!!

If you're gonna make it long at least make it interesting and amusing.

Op - firstly yours is pretty spot on

As for what should be in or out - its each to there own I guess - I think it should say enough about you/the person and give clear indications as to what it is your really looking for - factual where you can and a bit of humour thrown in if appropriate

We think your profile is about right. Probably about the same as ours. Some, in our opinion definitely go on far too long but we'd never criticise anyone for that. We're all different. Some long profiles are crap and some good. Same as shortish ones.

That wasn't to say yours isn't op. I haven't read it. I meant generally.

Your profile is absolutely fine. Its the very long ones with the aggressive list of dos and donts that are very offputting!!

If it's interesting I read it, if it's not then I don't. Doesn't really matter about the length. If the content is good then it makes me more interested. If the content is shit I move on.

Having spent longer than I should poring over your pics, I still managed to get to the end of your profile without nodding off, so it would seem to be fine!

Your profile takes about thirty seconds to read. If people can't be bothered to spend that long finding out about you, what's the likelihood they would ever take the time to actually meet you?

Brighton - even Hove!

It's a good length - not too long to be boring and not too short to be unimformative - it's the goldilocks of profiles - just right.

A profile is like a cock. It depends what you do with it rather than the length

Yes, although very tempted to put the dos' and don'ts list to stop all the messages that we are not interested in, we haven't as they also put us off profiles

Unfortunately we have had to start with the rules, it's got very frustrating with the "trying our luck" messages!

Yes we're probably to fussy!

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Fits on one page of the mobile site... I'd say that's in the vicinity of ideal, as long as

A) it isn't repetitive

B) there are n legal warnings.

(I didn't read it)
