I can't see how a once valid verification is now invalid?

There might be a learning opportunity here. Keep it factual as said above.

It's actually an old issue. People would threaten to have your veri removed if you didn't meet with them again. Very childish

I've always believed that once you've given you can't take back. I don't think the site should allow people to remove a verification once its given. That's just way to open to possible abuse.

Surely if you have given a false verification you should be banned from the site.

If only people used their own common sense and judgement instead of relying on the words of strangers.

That said...If I verified someone who later updated their profile to read, for example, "only do bareback"...then yeah...think I'd want my verification removed.
