What response do you prefer?

So, we get a few messages from time to time and, generally, if there person isn't our cup of tea then we just delete it.... Which I'm feeling is awfully rude.

But I wonder if a message back saying "no thank you" or whatever is going to be equally, if not more frustrating/annoying than having your message deleted.

So I wonder what the general concensus here is; if you message someone who isn't interested, what would be your preferred response from them?

Thanks for the offer but not what we are looking for.

Generally thank them for their message and say we're not looking for single guys at the moment (coz it's always single guys!)

If they've obviously taken a lot of effort into their message and it's well written and respectful I normally comment on what a lovely message it was, and then say that we're not looking for single guys at the moment.

I do a thanks for your message, no thanks & good luck type one but I'm getting 4/10 pop up in my inbox again to thank me for at least responding.

If I can I do reply. I am but a person though and am here for fun, sifting through my inbox can become a chore

I would prefer a no thanks but do whatever suits you as you will never please everyone. Response or not, tell the truth or tell a lie someone always takes offence.

Brighton - even Hove!

Just delete it and don't answer. It's easier and it's a strong message to the message sender.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

An actual reply gets the hopes up, better to delete. Block if you think there's the slightest chance of the underlying message sinking in.

Always, always, always prefer to get a "no thank you" message than just a delete. Actually I tend to mutter "well, fuck you too!" when I see I've had a delete with no reply.

But I sympathise with women who get hundreds of messages simply not having the time

And I know we've just flat-out deleted the worst "Hi here's my dick can I bareback you now plz" messages without dignifying them with a response.

As a single man I am happy for a No thanks or to just be deleted it's not good to have my messages looked at and then not responded to or deleted

As a single guy i much prefer a delete. Not that i ever know because i delete sent box after every message.

Silly but the ( sorry) part makes me feel like a charity case.

I would prefer a no thanks. But in all honesty, I just don't care.

We always write back to say a person isn't really what we are looking for, but that we hope they have fun with others. We haven't had any problems.

We don't care either way, the message is clear whether they respond or not and the outcome is the same so why sweat it? We don't think it's rude not to reply to unsolicited mail

If people are on our friends list and consistently don't reply to messages, we also assume then that they're no longer interested and delete...
