Just out of interest, and possibly risky...was anyone in Snowdonia for the event there this Saturday just gone?

I live in Snowdonia - just a few miles from where it happened - and like most locals I kept well away!!!

All these visitors - coming here and using our mountains, cluttering up our roads, soaking up our rain, sploshing around, cold wet and misserable... must be daft!

They come, they go... and they never really look at anything....

Which is why I can spend so much time walking around the place stark naked...!!!

Fab people don't come here because it's all a complete mystery to them - and they all think that everywhere in Wales is 20 mins drive from Cardiff...

not all of us , we love it there we stay at barmouth or surrounding areas for 2 weeks for our main holls and love exploreing the quiet spots of which there are plenty, beautifull area and so peacefull, maybe we will bump into you one day hee hee

North Wales

I live on the edge of Snowdonia.

The whole of North Wales is simply amazing.

For example....

A couple of days ago, I went for a bit of a drive round. In one short day, I had been alongside ancient castles of Edward and Llewellyn, golden sandy beaches of Colwyn Bay and Rhos, pebbled beach of Llandudno, the Great Orme tramway (with a refreshing pint of bitter in the summit complex), the rolling plains and hills to the west of the Conway Valley, the rugged, Alpine mountains around Betws y Coed, The quaint market town of Llanrwst, ancient churches including one with the coffin of the last true Prince of Wales, Glorious sunshine, moody grey skies, rainstorms, etc. etc.

There is only 1 motorway in the whole of Wales.

I spent less than 15 quid on petrol to see all these wonderful things.

I haven't been in ages, but I know how beautiful that part of the country is. Also certain times of the year, you get a free flying display from the RAF.
