Poppers are liquid based artificial highs.

We can't stand them and won't use them it use a room where others have used it.

Amyl nitrate, muscle relaxant (lot of folks use it for anal sex) also causes a mild high similar to most solvents

Personally they just give me a head ache.

I love poppers, they make me feel like I want to be fucked in every hole all at once, they make my body really sensitive all over and give me an intense orgasm BUT they are over very quickly and can give you a headache, quite a bad one for some people. Also poppers aren't something to take if you are taking viagra or similar, I don't know if it's a myth or not but I've heard the mix can potentially kill you!

Poppers is a slang term given to the chemical class called alkyl nitrites that are inhaled for recreational purposes, especially in preparation for sex. Today, poppers are mainly sold in cap vials.

Most widely sold concentrated products include the original compound amyl nitrite (isoamyl nitrite, isopentyl nitrite), cyclohexyl nitrite, isobutyl nitrite (2-methylpropyl nitrite), and isopropyl nitrite (2-propyl nitrite). Isopropyl nitrite became popular due to a ban on isobutyl nitrite in the EU in 2007. More rarely sold is the compound butyl nitrite.

They were part of the club culture from the 1970s disco scene to the 1980s, and the 1990s rave scene made their use popular.

Inhaling nitrites relaxes smooth muscles throughout the body.[4] Smooth muscle surrounds the body's blood vessels and, when relaxed, causes these vessels to dilate, resulting in an immediate decrease in blood pressure.

Alkyl nitrites are often used as a club drug or to enhance a sexual experience. They facilitate anal sex by relaxing the internal and external anal sphincter muscles.

Best taken 1 or 2 hits at point of orgasm.

Excessive use leads to headaches, nose/throat irritation. Also be careful not to spill on to your skin - that shit hurts!

These seem to *really* be a big part of gay culture. You'll struggle to find someone in a sauna who isn't using poppers.

Given the claims a lot of men on here make about their sexual prowess and expertise why would you need anything to enhance the experience? Surely they would have you on cloud 9 with their massive cock, ability to make EVERY woman squirt and able to make you orgasm with a look from 20 feet.

Touch Sauna in Swindon does swinging events on Saturdays, as "Swindon Swingers". It's the same venue, just a bit less gay.

We like them, but they can be hit and miss depending where you buy them from.

I'd avoid buying online, a lot of it is utter shite.

If you can find a local adults store (don't think Ann summers do them) I'd go there, our current favourite is a brand called "fist" (don't worry, it's not mandatory) it seems to keep for longer and is quite intense.

They are apparently very, very dangerous when mixed with viagra though, don't ever swallow them, can cause skin irritation in some people and will become less effective the more you use them and as the time from when you first opened the bottle increases.

All that in mind, we've been using them since the start of the year and never had anything but fun!

They list their TV night (Wednesdays) on the Swindon Swingers site. Are couples really not welcome? ._.

Used correctly they are great and do heighten the experience. They are linked with use by gay guys but not why I use them.

Reading that I would agree with avoiding viagra. Also if you have low blood pressure. And if you're taking medication for high blood pressure. And if you've got a dodgy ticker. And if you're taking medications for that. And if you have reflux or any digestive problems.

I'm all for having a good time - the advice I was given was only take drugs you've heard of. You haven't heard of this one, so probably best avoid it

I love good poppers (hard to find since changes in legislation a few years back), simply because of the wonderful head rush/feeling of euphoria they briefly give...

its personal experience and you wouldnt know till you tried them.

we have both used them before and when sniffed gives you a slight euphoric high and if you cum during use it is mind blowing.

i have managed to dry cum 4 or 5 times in a row before i actually cum when we have tried them (which was a strange sensation)

if you sniff to much at once they can make the little fella decide he wants a nap though and can give you a bit of a head ache. but in our opinion if they are used in moderation they can be good.

a little tip if anyone does use them or is going to try them.

get a empty clean plastic drinks bottle and put in some cotton wool or a small bit of material. then pour the poppers in it so they are soaked up by the material/cotton wool.

you wont spill it all over then and also you wont get it on your skin.

if left open they do loose there strength and also if they are in the daylight for a long time. (thats why they come in brownish bottles)

As Alkyl Nitrites (not nitrates as amny people erroneously think) are a powerful solvent, I'd avoid plastic bottles.

We keep a couple of the empty brown bottles they are sent in, and use those in the manner you describe.

A while back I got some genuine Amyl Nitrite online, which I think gives a more intense and cleaner rush than other Nitrites.

Factoid: Amyl Nitrite was originally used as a vaso dilator for angina and also has the effect of increasing the heart rate - hence the head rush.

It was packaged in small glass vials, which were broken open, typically in a handkerchief, for inhalation. It has been suggested that the nickname poppers is derived from this.
