No idea how but a link on google took me to this website, so being curious i typed in 'swinging' in their search box... Christ i have never read such biggoted drivel in all my life. It would appear that if you post in a forum on mumsnet that involves anything to do with sex, that the amount of times you have had sex shouldm directly correlate with the amount of children you have... Having sex for fun is obviously not the done thing on mumsnet. And god forbid you should involve a third person.....Or is it just me.......

it may not be the norm but it seems being outside the norm as far as sex is concerned on mumsnet makes you a social pariah.

Loads of people put up a front I often wonder who it is who watches all the porn and buys all the vibrators because nobody ever admits to it.

I wouldn't admit it to my friends, their reaction to some of the things I do admit to are enough to put me off that

I think if you indulge in this lifestyle and swinging in general you can spend so much time convincing yourself it is the right thing, the norm or what people really should be doing that you end up convincing yourself everyone is doing it, or everyone is cheating behind their partners back or no one can actually be monogamous or to make a relationship work you have to fuck other people .... why bother trying to convince yourself or others, just get on with it and maybe also take on the opinion that swinging is not the norm or what many people need to make their relationship successful or work .... they have exactly what they want and need without the lifestyle being imposed on them.

Yes I agree but I read the op as people on that site saying anything but sex for procreation is wrong. I know people like that who talk about sex as if it's wrong.

That website/social forum is pretty hideous on every topic.

Search porn in there. Many women talking about how they caught their other half watching porn and they've demanded therapy for them etc.

There used to be a few blogs highlighting the worst of mumsnet. Quite entertaining.

its not so much the ignorance towards swinging, it was more the fact that a lot of the comments made were that it was tantamount to having an affair, or that it was disgusting to even think about having sex with other people. It just made me think that 99.9% of the mums on mumsnet, wear long flannel nighties, think foreplay is a peck on the cheek goodnight, and that sex is thw work of the devil, unless it is to create a child, in which case it should take no longer than a minute and should be done in complete darkness

An excellent response, and something I've thought many a time reading certain comments. People are so wrapped up in this lifestyle that the assume anyone who doesn't fuck a different person every other night is boring/repressed/missing out, when they're not.

We "accept" here that people like different things sexually, yet some struggle to accept some people are happy, fulfilled and content in a monogamous relationship.

Or maybe we just look at the studies that prove most marriages do have unfaithfulness with deceit (i.e what saves them is one side not finding out) or if that's not good enough for you then check out the divorce rate.

I wrote a blog post about 6 years ago on erotic lactation and it was found by the mumsnet lot. Let's just say, the hate mail and abusive comments I received and the discuss threads about what I had written were most unpleasant.

Not quite over the hill

Mumsnet is renowned for having the worlds largest fleet of outrage buses. It has become a bit of a sport to register on there and post something that will raise their heckles. Users of a forces/ex-forces forum play up there regularly.

It would be interesting to hear some of their judgements on topics posted on these forums.....

Funnily enough a lot of the topics in The Lounge are the same as those on MN, for example cat poo in gardens, spelling and grammar, refugees, Jeremy Corbyn etc.

It's now also got it's own sex topic!

Some people actually joined Fab and were very complimentary about it...

Absolutely. Also, I'm not sure I'd like to compare and contrast everything I say and do in my day life with how my partner and I speak and behave in here. Probably not hypocrisy as such, but close scrutiny might reveals some inconsistencies.
