BBW...wtf??

Jump to newest

Right I'm going to open a can of worms here, but, wtf is with the term BBW? This term has always got my goat!

Some big women have beautiful faces, granted, as do some slim women. However, not all women (of any size) have beautiful faces, some less so, and some are darn right ugly (I'm sorry but in terms of what society generally considers attractive, this is a fact).

What on earth gives a big woman, regardless of how facially attractive she is the right to call herself a Big Beautiful Woman...as if the 'big' bit makes 'beautiful' by default? If this were true then why don't we also have the term SBW?...Slim Beautiful Woman, whereby, all slim women would lay claim to being beautiful simply by virtue of being slim!!

Rant over...

...and I would hazard a guess, that in your case you are also beautiful...the two are not mutually exclusive, nor as you seem to agree, are they mutually inclusive

In my defence I was given that description and never challenged it at the young impressionable age of 17 by a bf so always makes me smile when I see BBW

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

I think the phrase originally came from big women being encouraged to think they are beautiful in spite of being big, not that they are automatically beautiful because they are big. The fact its used by men to state their preferences is not the fault of the women who choose to use it.

I don't like the BBW or BBC terms personally as BBW is subjective and BBC defines somebody by their cock.

It could be argued though that everybody is attractive to somebody so the term BBW is relevant.

Easter just around the corner!

Let's just move away from any abbreviations and see people for what they are,we all have beauty in us in one way or another. It gets so tiresome when you read a thread from a guy saying they like a certain type of woman, that's great, but it alway's turns into some kind of slanging match. Lets just be nice to each other,we're people not abbreviations!

Same as the term BBC ..... not all black cocks are Big.

Its terms that get used to categorise people, normally by those that can't think for themselves. These terms are definitely not one size fits all.

We prefer to think of people as people who have their own personalities and are not categorised.

I agree...one girl one here (a black girl as it happens), who mainly has verifications from white guys got a message from a Black guy saying 'you obviously only like BWC...lol...she replied 'no, I like it in any colour....but, you are obviously a SBC'...or words to that effect...LMAO

It's just a label does it really matter?

We have BBW on our title heading so that people that are not interested in a bigger girl know not to bother looking.

Besides beauty is in the eye of the beholder and what one person feels is beautiful another wouldn't.

Is it a bit like describing yourself as fit and attractive?

Why can't a woman describe herself as beautiful if she wants to? Why can't a woman deem herself beautiful if she feels it? I don't like the phrase BBW because it fetishes weight, but if I want to describe myself as beautiful then I will because I am.

.

Your rant can be taken as you don't like big or fat women or find them attractive which is your right. It's almost like we shouldn't be allowed out in daylight ,seen in public or be on here .

Well tough ,you might not be attractive to them as take anyway you want you came across as a dick .

Had a ex like you told me had to lose weight as then might be pretty ...I did dumped him easiest 15 stone ever lost

My Own Little World

I hate the term BBW.

I am fat, if I don't like being called fat then I am the only person who can do anything about it.

Some may think I am beautiful, some will think I am ugly and others will think I am somewhere in between.

Just because I am fat it doesn't make me beautiful, it also doesn't make me ugly.

I am me, take me as you find me

I don't like labels. They are reductionist and pointless. I know from long experience that there are plenty of men and women out there who enjoy a woman with meat on her bones. However, if they fetishise weight, this leaves me cold. I want to be enjoyed for my intelligence and compassion, my sexuality, my body if it happens to please those who I find attractive, and for the fact that I was born lucky enough not to have a face like the back end of a horse. BBW my arse!

BBW is just a label - like every other label it rarely applies to everyone!

Regardless of which labels people want to give themselves or others choose to give them - I always make my own decision of how I perceive that person!

Let people call themselves what they want

Sorry if this point has been raised before (actually I'm not sorry at all, but I haven't read the whole thread) but surely the term is subjective to whoever is using it?

If someone describes themselves (or someone else) as a BBW then it may be because they do consider themselves (or whoever they're talking about) as beautiful even if you or I might not?

Beauty also comes in many forms, not just physical looks. They may have an inner beauty rather than just concentrating on aesthetics.

Or they may just be, indeed, a munter misclassified!

"I don't normally rant but for God's sake OP, get over yourself.

In what way precisely?"

We are given the looks we are given. Nothing we can do about it apart from lose weight. The rest of it we just have to make the best of. No matter how much weight I lost I would never be a glamour girl so if I choose to describe myself as a BBW - Big Breasted Woman to me not Big Beautiful Woman - why choose to comment in it in a negative way. You seem to be pretty well blessed when it comes to looks but that is just pure blind luck and isn't an achievement. You just won a prize in life's raffle. That doesn't give you the right to comment or to judge.

First - and last - rant over. It's not worth getting annoyed about.

What I don't like is being labeled a BBW or anyone male or female having ago at not just me but anyone who's on larger size .if I'm not your type jog on but I will make it totally clear do not try on any form to make me or others feel bad or ashamed over weight /size /looks because all it means is your a bully and I very much doubt your 100% perfect.

"Let's just move away from any abbreviations and see people for what they are,we all have beauty in us in one way or another. It gets so tiresome when you read a thread from a guy saying they like a certain type of woman, that's great, but it alway's turns into some kind of slanging match. Lets just be nice to each other,we're people not abbreviations!

I think it's clear that the op likes slim women, which is his preference. In life though we shouldn't have labels however we should not knock those who consider themselves beautiful regardless if others don't, confidence is a hard thing to come by and can takes years to build but a second to destroy..

Having been much bigger... a size 26 and 19 stone heavier, I can safely say I have way less hang ups now than I did then. I feel much happier and more confident in my body now.

Have I changed my preferences sexually? Not one bit.

But as a fake woman I do ok for meets, and no one seems horrified when I get naked with them.

From my experience, some men see larger ladies as an easy target. I'd a few comments when I was larger about being easy, grateful and the "moped shag" (fun until his mates found out) and now get told I am up my own arse and think I am something special... basically, whatever size, you appeal to some people and not to others... but everyone still feels they have a right to comment on your body size!

I was the opposite lost enough weight to be a size 8 and hated myself thought I looked ill didn't think being slim suited me. I'm very happy as a size 16/18 this is ideal for me so I couldn't care less if others don't think I should be happy as I am, and it has sod all to do with me being too lazy to maintain a smaller size, I've already proved I can do that if I want to, it's about me looking in the mirror and be happy with myself regardless of others opinions

But people can described e themselves as they like doesn't mean I'm going to see them that way.

The issue on here is that there is a limited choice of size descriptors to choose from so if you feel too fat to be curvy but not fat enough to be ample, large or fabulous you're stuck with BBW and all of its aesthetic connotations. That's why I chose curvy although the traditional BBW label as generally used does come closer to describing me. I wasn't comfortable with the second B in there though since beauty is so subjective and it's not something I would want to claim for myself. At least not to others.

No he didn't.

He said bbw was saying that a woman is automatically beautiful just by the fact she's fat.

I if a truly ugly thin girl ate till she was a size 26 she would now some how be beautiful.

He even specifically mentioned that you can have beautiful fat women so please stop being so desperate to misrepresent him

I think you have to look at the psychology of whats really meant by BBW, it is there to really make a BBW feel that they are no lesser of a woman(dont turn that around), lots of BBW's have confidence issues..some deeper than others. Most women, regardless of size share that common beauty, which is being female, sometimes it can be even a slight gesture,an eye..etc..and it turns me on..I guess I just like femininity.

I remember one of my greatest bbw meets ever, absolutely stunning woman facially..her skin was amazing too..(it was a group meet),some of other guys werent interested in going further than her face/boobs though.

I need to look her up...couldnt care less if she's lost weight lol

I always thought it was a woman letting you know she was big but happy with her size and finds her curves beautiful. But I don't really know anything when it comes to woman lol x

"Right I'm going to open a can of worms here, but, wtf is with the term BBW?

Beauty isn't all about the face"

Maybe he should have phrased it that way then?

What I truly think is that morbidly obese people whether male or female should describe themselves as precisely that. Or if they are too uncomfortable with the honest health implications implied by that term then perhaps just 'hugely overweight'.

I'm quite sure the admirers of such body types would not be put off, after all it is what they are attracted to. If you also happen to think you are beautiful or handsome for whatever reason then obviously you are also entitled to say that too.

I suppose I can say I've never really got the labels people put on others, or they put on ..themselves.

I dont fit into what I class as typically BBC...most of the 'bbw' I've met..its never really crossed my mind to say anything regarding their weight.

as I said earlier..I've had some of the best nites with bigger women(see pics), as i have with slimmer ones. or had not so great nights with either spectrum...

In my defence I was given that description and never challenged it at the young impressionable age of 17 by a bf so always makes me smile when I see BBW "

I can't see why you needed to rant about it. It's not like it's going to affect your sex life. As someone said earlier at least you know you're getting a fat woman, you just have to decide if you find her attractive yourself. The same as when a man has a muscular body, until you see the face you won't know if he's an oogly.

You think people will change because of some nobody on here having a rant? Ugly, fat women will stop using the term BBW to describe themselves? Or men will stop saying they love BBW's. I think, and I'm going to stick my neck out here, that most people here know that not all big women are beautiful to everyone.

Is the change in this case then that you want to stop fat women being able to call themselves beautiful? I think there's an 'ist' there because if a fat woman can't surely a slim woman can't nor one in the middle

term like BBW and BBC will only go away if by using it, it ended up having a negative effect....

its a two way street.... whilst people ask for them, and whilst people play up to it if they think it ends up being an advantage.... nothing will change!!!!

the sad thing if that some people like to "fetish-ise" so to speak... and other are prepared to be seen as a fetish if it means getting a legover....

Why should it "go away" just because some people don't like it? Using terms like BBC and BBW are ways of describing oneself. I could call myself a BBW,would it make someone want me who didn't previously? I've had many men message asking if I like BBC,I don't want them purely because they used the term BBC. There are lots of ways people describe themselves on here,I don't take much notice.

For what it's worth that's how I read I too.

I can't quite find the right words to write ~ but the term BBW to me just seems really patronising to women.
