Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I thought it was a UK ruling?

Not arsed. Rich people vs greedy people is the way it read.

Massive over simplification, I know.

GOSPORT

It was uk, and the blokes both lied and hid considerable amounts of money away so committed fraud BUT it will open the door to all manner of phsyco ex's to try their luck! My ex has nothing to worry about cause because I had a fair settlement we were both comfortable with. But there will be many calls made to solicitors over the coming weeks and it will be the solicitors pockets that will be getting fuller! X

Marriage is a legal contract that makes people partners, this includes financially.

Those guys tried to break that contract. You can't contract yourself to laws and then expect to break them.

Halesowen

After being fleeced by my ex (20 years ago, family courts took the view that the man should pay, and she emptied her accounts including savings I'd put aside for her, so she had all the needs and I had all the means), I vowed never to marry again until/unless pre-nups were recognised in law.

I've advised both my sons to adopt the same attitude.
