I used to love Christmas but it seems just hard work now. We rarely have the dinner on Xmas day as my daughter works it sometimes and family illness makes it difficult. Think I prefer Halloween, kids in costumes and the effort they put in make me smile

Yeah I don't really use costumes! Just a black t-shirt and loads of face paint... I'm pretty good at theatrical (spelling might be wrong) makeup

Halloween freaked me out as a kid - so don't enjoy it now. We love Christmas - 2 weeks off and a food and drink fest

We have no choice but to embrace Halloween as we have a 5 and 7 year-old. Person all I think It is another American commercial tactic that we now have to endure. Nobody went trick or treating when we were kids but now it is expected. I blame wal-marts ownership of Asda for it.

Oh the annual beg on the door for sweets, my kids did it for the first time in 9 years last year and had more sugar in one bag than the Tate and lyle factory ever had in one year!

Halloween passes me by. Fortunately the Rugby world cup will blot it from my mind this year.

Chrimbo, just!

Christmas stuff is in the shops for a quarter of a year, whereas Halloween stuff is in the shops for only about an eighth or ninth of the year, so Christmas obviously wins!
