From the thread title, I thought the OP meant names like 'clunge-plunger' or 'shag-a-slag' (I made these up so my apologies if they actually exist lol).

I agree with Shaz. I think. I also agree with what others are saying. I see it this way.

It's not the name that is offensive ; it's the implication that someone is choosing a cake from a stall.

I don't respond to messages that say, ' I love older women', I want sex with an older woman, I want to try an older woman' etc....

If I do respond I respond politely but dismissively. I'd rather not respond than try to educate the populace.

Regulars often scream from the rooftops that swinging is, ' a lifestyle' , ' sexual freedom' etc etc . I accept this and to me it means that ordinary everyday cultural rules and respect apply on how people are approached and treated along with extra dollops of trust , open mindedness etc and less cloying , blame and emotional tangle.

So - why is it that once on the site people imagine that approaching people like they are lined up in a cattle market is a winning approach? Why is downright vulgarity acceptable to some? Using the overused scenario of people in the pub - people would never use these names or phrases to attract. 'Hiya luv im twattickler , luv suckin' clit on fat bitches, wanna ride this?' ???? If it's NOT okay face to face = it's NOT okay here.

It's okay to have a preference for fat birds. ( BBW doesn't work for me - some of em are PIG ugly not just fat ) BUT just every now and then - no matter how hardened - no matter how wise that fat bird is , she might just like to think that someone likes 'her' not her flubber.

I can see the counter arguments about not being on a swinging site if you can't take the heat etc AND players needing their name to stand out but ...

MY LAST BUT .....

BUT message after message after message speaking in this way has an effect eventually. I actually spoke out loud to myself yesterday and felt it in the pits of my stomach.. ' Doesn't anyone send 'normal' messages?

If spoken to like a 'speciality dish' I don't reply. I guess I had the stupidity to think I was a person looking for a more liberated sex lifestyle. I didn't think I'd have to lower my standards to be spoken to as something less than respectable.

I don't _iew swinging ( the little I know of it ) as a reason for people to speak to others in the way they do ( okay men to women )

If it wasn't for the few and i mean VERY FEW decent men who are able to talk to women as if they are normal and as if sex isn't dirty it wouldn't be worth being here.

MOST , THE VAST MAJORITY of approaches made to me on here remind me of desparate school boys or greasy old letches rubbing their legs.

Gone off the point but sometimes the name + approach is sickening.

My personal opinion is.... I prefer someone to state their preferences, even if it is in their username. I like to know I am possibly their type.

i personally think its a sign of insecurity, because most big women dont like their size they think other just tollorate it too, and are seen as a make do or fetish, you can tell the ones who fall into this catogory just by reading their profile, women who state they are big then go onto putting things like.....so if you dont like big women dont waste your time mailing me...or telling folks to 'jog on' if they after a model type, you really dont need to put all that, i think its more for the benifit of the women posting the profile than the guys reading it, just say your a big lass you dont have to justify or explain it after

The phrase, perhaps, I was looking at was 'very few men'...now I understand that some of your post refers to the experiences you have had from messages which is fine.Not all of it is though.

The OP is about offensive usernames though...does anyone really feel offended by what a stranger chooses for a username?

If a woman is happy to have the term BBW attributed to her then I don't see what 'offence' there is to be found in someone stating they like that type of body shape.It's just a username!...I doubt to may people arrange meets, or refuse them, based entirely on that!

I'm against cencorship in most things, if it's not illegal then it should not be censored in my _iew. It means if we see things we don't like as individuals then we have to use that wonderful thing we all have.....choice.

I personally don't like 'baseline vulgarity' unless it's in a context of humour, but for some, that's what this type of site is about.

Being offended by a username of someone that nobody if forcing you to have long winded interaction with seems to me to be a little over sensitive.

Whether you get it or not some people are put of by some user names. I've a friend on here who couldn't understand why he wasn't getting meets. I did mention that his name was a bit off putting - he changed it, and guess what? He's having meets.

Totally agree with your statement. A descriptive username is off putting if not your interest but does save alot of time finding out what they're into. A person needs to think about how others see that name. Some names I see make me go ugh and I choose not to go further.
