Hi all been looking at the new Philips Lumea hair removal device. They retail at around £300 which buys an awful lot of wax or razors but they claim to kill off hair and are painless. Has anyone tried one of these and how effective are they. ?

I haven't but recently got an epilator and it is one of the best things i've ever bought! I used to have to shave my legs every day but with this, can leave them for a couple of weeks. It is virtually painless (to me anyway!) Z

Its alot of money to lay on a product from a shop that could break...maybe IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatment if you want rid permanently.Or laser treatment also at a specialist clinic.im looking into that myself so i dont have to keep getting my back waxed

That's a he'll of a lot of money for something you'd only need once. If it works....

I looked into getting this done professionally, and if you look at the info from clinincs, the rule seems to be that it is more effective on darker hair, so as a ginger i thought maybe not!

Also it isn't necessarily permanent, but it is long term, if that helps.

I worked out that it would be cost effective after about ten years!

i use to have this when i was test riding for suzuki so my leather suit wouldnt cause the hairs to grow back inside.

i had loads of treatments and it didnt kill all of the hair and over time its come back.

i now use a cream i was given and it is easy to apply and has never hurt me.

removes all the hair no problem.
