Blood from a stone

Honestly, it sometimes feels like this when trying to correspond with some people over the message system.

We get some people who send us messages saying something like 'wanna chat?' or 'what u into?' or some similar inanity.

Generally, we'll give them the benefit of the doubt and reply with a few lines including some questions to prompt them to reply in a more fulsome way.

Cue a one-line (or even couple of words) response asking us something else. Well, we like to be polite to reply with a few lines, only to receive another equally brief response.

Are we expecting too much of some (by all means not all) people? Why do they persist in messaging if all they can do is come up with such brief comments?

Honestly, trying to get them into conversation is like trying to get the proverbial blood from a stone

Give it another couple of months, and you'll be as proficient in ignoring them as the rest of us

Why do you keep mailing them if you aren't compatible?

I have had this a couple of times, getting a conversation going was almost impossible. One of them I asked whether she read my messages? She had she was 'intelligent' on her profile. She didn't understand why I had asked. I ended up blocking her to save my own sanity

Many people are here for an easy fuck with as little effort as possible put into getting one.

Just ignore them, probably shit in bed anyway, lack of effort and all that...

We don't know whether we're compatible or not, do we? The fact that they are not very good at writing doesn't necessarily mean we wouldn't get on in person - or at least, that's our hope.

What we find odd is that they persist in replying. Eventually, we just stop because we don't seem to be getting anywhere. But really, is it that difficult to write a few sentences? It takes moments.

If I didn't find her attractive she could have wrote war and peace and I wouldn't have replied with more than a no thanks.

Just wondering,so it doesn't really matter too much how rubbish the message is,if you like the look of them they'll get a positive response. I say that in a light hearted way I know it takes a whole lot more than looks

We have had several of those "conversations" recently.

Them: hows u?

Us: We are fine thank you.

Them: Good.

End of conversation.

I don't have a problem with them, I can see the message without opening it so it just gets deleted
