Car key parties

Hi all,

We were chatting and wondered, you see and hear so much of these car key parties like they apparently used to do in the 60's etc, and there are more than a few porn films that show this.

It started us to question, do they still go on? has anybody been to one? Or is this just a massive cliche that is just a bit of a myth?

Been to something similar although keys were not used and all couples knew each other so there was no randomness.

Was more an icebreaker game.

Worked well for what was planned

I wouldn't know if it still goes on, but I think people like choice these days. Which the internet brings easily.

No its not a myth. I had an aunt and uncle who used to frequent such parties.

It would make a good ice breaker, perhaps not for forcing a swap to go on but perhaps a bit like truth or dare or spin the bottle.... We would probably be up for it more if we knew all the couples there. Like you said, no randomness that way....

I've got a VW so I'd be last out the bowl - people would be worried about my emissions

We do spin the rubber duck in the hot tub at Radlett, very effective way to play with new people. Once the game is announced, those that want to try someone totally new climb into the tub...

It was more games and theme rooms with blindfolds

You should come to Radlett on Halloween, this month was fantastic, next month will be even better... Couples and single ladies only on Saturdays, organised by theplaygrounds dot co dot uk

I (R) swung in the 70s and never went to a key party, and we certainly haven't been to one since we started as a couple. Think it's a myth, like pampas grass!

Far better would be the ladies all go to a room, they know which one not pre determined and then the guys pull a room key out of the bowl and go to the room. Complete darkness to add to the sensations, fifteen minutes then do it all again

That's kind of the game we played although it was done with blindfolds and playing cards with a different theme to the room. Worked well. Especially the room with the massage table in.

Titz Towers, North Notts

I always envisage someone pulling out the key to my magic flying carpet, looking at me across the room, where I'm sat waving at them like a loon. Them immediately looking at everyone else and thinking, 'Look at what you could have won - all for the throw of a dart' and then immediately jumping through a window.

"Does it matter what car I drive?"

Isn't that why we had a 'what car do you drive' thread recently?
