What the neighbours think...

I have long time ago stopped worrying about what my neighbours think.. to be fair.. I am into a lot of male dominated interests so Male friends have never been uncommon.

I am careful not to leave groups of guys on my doorsteps but....

Do people worry what their neighbours would think...?

Just curious..

Yes. This is my main worry with swinging. I don't mind if I bump into a neighbour in a swing club, we'd be there for the same reasons. But I worry about having anyone round to my house in case a neighbour (I have a very nosy one that's a friend & pops in a lot) calls round or notices that I have a visitor.

I'm planning a small gathering on Friday & I'm nervous about having it at my house. Think we'll end up in a club.

I couldn't give a damn what my neighbours think. Once they start paying my rent, then they can start judging and telling me who can or cannot be in my house. Until then... they can keep their noses firmly in their own shit!!!

I worry because I'm a single woman that runs 2 business and has children. We can't all be foot loose and fancy free.

I run a business from home and have 3 kids here. Not single, but as my Husband is away on business a lot, most people assume I am..

I am just carefulish, but couldnt meet outside the house much, so it would limit my playtime. So far no neighbours have noticed.

When they start chipping in to pay the mortgage, council tax, electric, water, gas etc, what they think could be a factor.

Since I'm a grown woman of 50 minding my own business and not interferring in what they do, I could give a monkies what they think!!!

I'm only interested in what my daughter's think, so don't invite anyone around when they're likely to be there. They think I sit at home at the weekend when they're out eating Milk Tray, sipping Bailey's watching Strictly: long may their ignorance continue!

Not really... our bedrooms and living room are not overlooked so we can play with the curtains open in the daytime. In summer, one friend stands in the garden nude to smoke; she can't be seen there. But on one occasion last spring she stood under the front porch for a smoke, nude apart from high heels and a fleece that didn't cover her bare bottom - fortunately nobody was in our cul-de-sac!

Exactly what I said earlier Sass xx

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'm careful to wear enough to cover my stockings, falsies and make up when I leave the house. Other than that, I don't tend to worry.

I no longer accommodate, and have fun at hotels instead.

Luckily there is a Travelodge 5min on foot away.

My next door neighbour has a good idea what I get up too as I told them!

Not one iota, most of our neighbours know anyway.

If swinging was going to cause us anxiety we wouldn't have started doing it in the first place.

Worrying about getting found out would take the fun out of it.

As individuals it's fair enough to not worry. The worry comes, surely, if this lifestyle becomes public knowledge...is how it can negatively effect our families and friends who are unaware of it.For people who have children who could end up bullied and humiliated in playgrounds and parents who may not understand the lifestyle and be hurt and worried about their children who 'swing' and have abuse levelled at them...it makes sense to do all you can to protect the ones we love from that.

I do think swinging is more acceptable these days..

I worry a little about what would happen if everyone found out, but I am not ashamed of it. I am honest with people that ask me about things like my Collar and stuff.. and so far havent had anyone react badly.

I tend to agree!

It's been my experience that some men use "nosey neighbours" as an excuse for not inviting you to their home - funny, they never ask you about your neighbours!

As some single men are forever posting about not getting meets, I struggle to see how the occasional visitor would arouse suspicision from neighbours! My playmates are regulars, they don't stay overnight, they don't arrive in gimp suits, French maids outfits etc, and I don't open my door dressed as Madam Whiplash!!

My parents are dead, my children are adults, my sisters know I meet men of the internet and have sex with them (my sister was daft enough to get pregnant with a man she met of the net), although they don't know to the extent I play they know I'm not "normal"...their words -

One of my subs is worried what people will say when they come to deal with his effects when he's dead. He has a lovely collection of women's clothing, including the French maid, nurse, gladiator harness I've left there!!!

Me telling him he'll be dead and pass caring doesn't seem to help!!

Fair enough if yur a single bloke I spose..but some people dont want their neighbours knowing because of possible privacy repercussions ...especially people in small communities..and once the gossip mill starts it turns faster and faster...you will go from swappers to devil worshipping 'sex people'...'dont let the kids play with their kids...they are sex perves'..and how awful would it be if a young teenager came home and said 'all the kids in school say you and mum have sex with other people'...what are most couples going to say to that???...'yeh right on...we are liberated..its the only way to be'....I dont think so.

Not everybody wants the world to know their business.

I've had 4 "vanilla" boyfriends in the 9 years I've lived here- my neighbours ( we're in flats) only ever met 2 of them....... I don't often see them and as it's my house and no hassle is caused to them.... they can think what they like. I couldn't care less about that part of my life as generally, I'm quite a good neighbour
