Smooth as a....

Just wondering if it is still the case that most women/couples like a man to be smooth down below, or at least very well trimmed?

I used to shave, always scared the hell of of me. Now use Veet...which only worries me if I get the timing wrong lol.

So, is smooth still best and how to get smooth?
