When I miss out on repeat meets, it is usually to do with time/distance constraints. I still keep in touch with some people that I have only met once, say and I have known a long time.....people have busy lives, me included.

he meet was arranged for 7pm, he asked if we could delay it til 8pm. No problem. I turned up at 7.45pm, waited til 8.15pm before texting him, Turned out he'd already been and gone. So he waited 10 mins, didn't even bother to look around for me, and buggered off.
