Insect bites and Dogging?

I'm wondering whether, in general, people are being bitten more this year than previous years while 'outdoors'? I have been plagued this year by lots of insect bites on my legs. Very irritating and not pretty.

We have been ok this year , we take vitamin B1 ( thiamin ) which they hate the smell of . 100mg an hour before going out seems to work for us . People don't smell it at all
