"There are many things women do because they think they have to and that is incredibly sad." Sadly I agree

"It scares me that 'the bush' seems to be making a comeback. I've been shaving mine constantly since I was 16. I dislike it that much " The comeback of the bush is the greatest news of the last few years in my book. Long overdue.

"I strongly disagree with this type of feminist malarkey. I feel the majority of women shave because they want to shave. I know for a fact that my g/f does. Well, we both use hair removal cream. Dislike bodily hair in most places - not because it's "the thing" to do but because it's a personal preference. Not everything has some OTT pretence behind it. " It often seems odd to me though that it's only in say the last 20 years or so that shaving has become such a big deal. Before that women just didn't seem that fussed about it. Now a whole multi-million pound industry has built up around it and it's become a 'thing'. I have no problem with women shaving if that's what they want to do but I feel that there's even a stigma now that's built up around having a bush when in fact it's just a most natural thing.

Wanting to shave one's pubic hair isn't a "negative" thought, it's a personal preference.

Even if that was the case (and I don't believe it is) then what's the problem - at the end of the day, for whatever reason, these women prefer to be shaved. As long as they're happy with that then is there even a problem?

At 16, an age where our brains are not fully developed, she found her pubic hair so awful, she's shaved ever since. That is most definitely a negative thought.

It's just funny how it just popped up out of nowhere and now if you have a bush it's seen as a little odd and strange by a lot of people. There's definitely some peer pressure involved here. And I don't just mean with pubic hair. Some women feel they just have to shave their arms and legs etc because it's seen as the thing to do.

"I've been removing my pubic hair ever since it first grew in! I keep a small patch, but I find it more comfortable, and more hygienic to be hair free. It has nothing to do with porn, I didn't know it existed then!" This is exactly the way we feel too ![]()

Again, it's not a negative thought (imo). I disliked my pubic hair and began shaving from when I was... what, 14, 15? Because I prefer the smooth look and feel. I bet her situation was similar.

"Women, do you feel like you have to shave to conform? I listened to a radio programme this morning and they were tallking about how women feel the need to conform to stereotypes set by porn. Do you (men I suppose as well) shave because you want to or because it's 'normal'? " I did decide to shave to conform but I quite like the sexy feeling (not that I actually get hardly any sex).

"is there anyone who would turn a meet down with someone they found really attractive if they found at the last minute that they had pubic hair? Does anyone feel that those of us who choose to trim only should declare it?....I wouldn't but I'm interested to know how much of a deal breaker people feel it is. I have noticed a shift recently though from the majority claiming they have encountered nothing worse than people with pubic hair to a more laissez faire attitude." Trimmed and shaved round the lips is fine , but an unruly mass of hair is a deal breaker . We met a couple a while back and when the female pulled her pants down , Sabrina said quietly to me that there was no way she was going down there . As I rarely get involved anyway I told them it was good to meet them but we would be on our way now . He asked as we left Iif it was because of his wife's hairy muff as it wouldn't be the first time this had happened . I said yes , perhaps he should forewarn potential meets . So yes we would say no and gave done ![]()

"but it looks so bloody stupid on a man. especially if he is a little over weight. the worse ones are the men who have hairy legs an belly but shaved around there bits. stupid!" But that's just your personal opinion and preference, would you prefer it if everyone looked the same? How odd to have such a strong opinion on shaven pubic hair. Tell you what is stupid, actually, and that is being in your late forties/early fifties and still not knowing the difference between there and their.

"We have been swinging together for around 35 or so years and have never caught an STI. We are sure that one of the reasons is because neither of us shave our pubic areas. Medical experiments confirm that shaving allows the spread of STIs due to the micro-cuts and in-growning hairs caused by shaving. Pubic hair also helps prevent the spread of genital warts, possibly as there is less skin to skin contact." ![]()
