When should you give up...

Ok I've had about 5 messages off the same person now which I'm not interested in... I've also said that I'm not interested and good luck, she won't take the hint.. Now do I block or should I leave it... I don't like blocking people if I'm honest.

If someone is annoying you and won;t take no for an answer - why wouldn't you block them?

I had this today, had a few (crap) messages off a guy. I just ignored and deleted them. Next thing I know he sends an abusive message, calls me a bitch and blocks me! Saved me a job I suppose

Just block them before it gets nasty.

If it's that Mrs ddc I can only pass on my heartfelt apologies. She has discovered they do the local Prosecco in 1½ litre bottles.

Block her

(I know I did once when she was hassling me)

Mr ddc

Just say no thanks you're not interested. Never reply again, just delete any further messages. Report abuse.

I personally would have blocked by now...

Or just ignore any further messages from her. Leave them unread, she will soon get the message, even if it takes a while.

If someone makes an effort, with messages or with attached pics etc, we always reply to say thanks but no thanks (or words to that effect). If they message again a few weeks later (quite often with same pasted text) we check the message history and if they already got told no we block then. No point backing and forthing.

Does this really happen? It seems stupid to send abusive messages just cause your not someone's cup of tea.

Just do 'unread deleted' if you don't want to block?

Exactly, blocking without seeing if that's the case seems a little harsh but each to their own.

"why are people so sensitive about blocking or being blocked? This is the internet not playschool."

Some people like to treat the block button like it's a weapon of mass destruction. It's just a site tool to stop contact with those you don't wish to communicate with. Any sane person doesn't see it as a personal insult and if they do then you're better off not being able to communicate anymore

I would block. I rarely block people but if they incessantly message after I've already said no and explained why then there is no other option.

Having suffered with a real life stalker, that had to involve the police, block now and forget it. If you get further messages then make notes with exact time and day etc just in case. But never, ever , reply. They take that as a sign you want to speak.

It's really not nice.
