Bastard

Another current thread has prompted me to post this topic.

I don't like being called "bastard" in any context. I find it insulting and even if it's said in a play situation, such as "fuck me harder you bastard" I have to really stop myself from stopping and walking.

I don't mind the "fuck me, fuck me" or "fuck me harder" type of talk, but as soon as the word bastard comes out, my interest starts to wane.

I've met a number of ladies who use this word while in the throes of passion.

I well understand that some of you guys will like the "dirty talk" and see it as a form of encouragement, or see it as the lady "losing herself" in the moment, but I find it as distastefull as many of you ladies do of the "C" word.

Any one else feel the same?

Completely agree with you, Jack.

I've nothing against dirty talk during sex, but being called a bastard is right off-putting.

It's even worse when they call me a fat, ugly midget with a small dick!

I personally can't do dirty talk....have tried but just not me, I don't mind if my partner does, but there are certain words that are just not acceptable!!! So totaly agree with you Jack, I can't even envisage where someone would want to use that word, maybe I'm just naive

I agree with Jack, being called any derogatory names turns me off completely. Just because Im a swinger, it doesnt give anyone the right to call me a whore or refer to my bits as a C**t, or pull my hair or be rough with me. If i wanted it, I would have had the conversation beforehand.

I have used the odd swear word with my guy, but thats because we are comfortable with each other and we've had the conversation and had enough sex to know whats right or wrong. We have said fuck me, ride me, suck me, its that kind of thing, very tame.

I would never call him a bastard during sex.

He did once say to me, you gorgeous filthy lover (whilst he was taking me across the bonnet of his car) and that was the most erotic thing he's ever said to me.

Far from it people can still use the cunt word and still have a vocabulary that exceeds mere mortals.

Many use different vocabulary depending whom they are with be it work colleagues or friends. some people will drop into slang and use guteral words if that is what they perceve people use. Others will use specific words to irritate people.

I always find if fascinating how different people use different words and mannerisms with different people, the "telephone voice" and the words our parents used to try and promote the image they were intelligent always made me smile. All i ask is people are who they are and use what they normally use and are comfortable with.

i think like everything we do we all have personal preferences i love swearing and name calling during sex but only with someone who wants to play that way. but bastad well thats a bit different i actually am a bastard (never have meet my father not sure my mother knew him very well either) so maybe that would be one word too many

to be honest i think you have a point there. The Bastard word can be offensive to people who are illegitimate. I am not sure if there is the stigma there was with it in the past though as a high percentage of kids are born outside wedlock.

It has me thinking now about the cunt thread as in the phrase "your an ugly cunt" and wonder if it offends in the same way

I always find it different how words are perceived differently by different people. I guess i am lucky as neither words really offend me although i would air with you finding bastard worse. However if someone called me a Man Utd fan i would be well naffed off and it would possible result in a sharp kick to the conkers as that would be highly offensive to someone who understands football and isn't a glory hunter

I'm going against the flow of this thread. I think in the throes of passion, pretty much anything said would be acceptable. Also the context in which some words are spoken does alter their impact.

As a precursor, in early meets, I would ask my partners how they feel about dirty talk during sex. I haven't previously enquired about taboo words.

I'll reconsider this, bearing in mind the comments on here.

I’ve never taken offence to a word in its own right but any word can be offensive in certain context. I have two bosses, husband & wife team. The wife is a dedicated and very active catholic church goer. She doesn’t swear, doesn’t tell or want to hear dirty jokes, and everyone at work is very considerate of her proximity where language and or the nature of conversation is concerned. One day walking though the door and through her office I tripped and said “Oh fiddle sticks”, she asked, “What’s up?” I said, “Well I wanted to say ‘fuck it’ but I couldn’t because you are sat there” she nearly wet herself laughing. Interesting how a word that would normally be highly offensive to a particular person can still be funny IF used in the right way at that right time.

Some words for some people always hit the funny bone and in our house bastard is one of them but strangely perhaps we tend not to swear when angry or trying to get serious point across because swear words are so meaningless… hate to say it but, they have all been ‘bastardised’ such as ‘that’s fucking great’ inversely ‘that’s fucking crap’.

BTW… I am a bastard, my parents were never married to each other but the term illegitimate, to me sounds worse than the ‘B’ word
