Difference between a lover and a FWB

Hi there

Just thought i would post the question and ask what the difference is ...if there is at at all.

Seen lots of threads on FBs, regular FWBs and lovers....all very interesting....

Surely the difference is that there's no real push to tell one another about one offs, other fbs or fwbs and you have to enter it without the expectation of anything in particular,whereas in a relationship there is the expectation of openness and being concerned about your partner's consent. That's my interpretation anyway

See I'd disagree about no need to tell a fb or fwb about others. You May not have any say... But you are in my opinion anyway entitled to know. Even more so as with many fb couples you have decided to go bare with that person. It comes down to trust x

I had to really thing about this one, but I think there is not really a difference - lover, to me, means someone who you are in an illicit relationship with, when you are attached? FWB/FB (American and British terms for the same thing) is just that - but can be close and loving/caring, even more so, because there is no expectation or jealousy involved. Of course, I have read on here how a FWB/FB relationship is preferable to coupledom as there is no obligation/ accounting to the other person - or compromise - an interesting one, as surely in the best of relationships/couples, there is no need to compromise. Spoken as someone who always had to compromise, but refused to and now I feel I have the perfect match, there is no need. I know Mr feels the same as we have talked about it - and he always felt he had to compromise too much in previous relationships, but now he can be himself, ie take cock up his arse and I love it ....

You don't walk around Tesco with your FWB with your hand in their back pocket as they push the trolley and share a laugh with them as you playfully put items into said trolley that you wouldn't normally purchase

Eg; Felix As Good As It Looks Doubly Delicious cat food when you usually buy Whiskas Meat in Gravy

Fb you meet occasionally have sex, have a laugh, then you go your seperate ways until the next time you fancy hooking up. a lover implies some sort of deeper relationship.

My view, and I'm sure others will have a different view is

Fuck Buddy, basically someone who would just fuck, chatting would be limited to the basics and no real emotions

Friends with benefits, someone who would kick about with, enjoy spending time with even if not having sex.

Lover, the one I'd want to be with and be emotionally attached too.

I love my cats, but they have a true obsession with Whiskas which is eating us out of house and home - Mr suggested tricking them with the co-op brand on Sunday, and it worked - is that love?

thanks for the insights...with regard the term lover was more thinking along the lines of a regualr lover on fabs...see a lot of couples they seek a regular lover/fwb....

but agree with what most have said...
