Sounds like Burning Mouth Syndrome. It can be caused by a yeast infection. So in all likelihood, you were licking someone who had thrush.

Sounds like Burning Mouth Syndrome. It can be caused by a yeast infection. So in all likelihood, you were licking someone who had thrush."

You need an anti fungal treatment for thrush.

You can get it in gel form from the Chemist.

It is easily cured with the right medication. It is just a fungal imbalance. Antibiotics and mouthwash are not the right way. Yes, see your GP. And, no, you won't have to say what caused it. They have seen it a million times, I am sure.
