starting using the forum over a week ago, ive typed respectful replies, sometimes witty, and started threads too.

at first a thought maybe its me as ive typed many replies to different threads and noticed on quite a few occasions to be blanked for what ever reason, then i realised its not myself at all, after reading many threads ave noticed some on here in the forums and very worried to reply to people they perceive may put there chances of getting laid, mainly guys, the females will reply to nearly all sensible threads and do interact more than guys , supposed the frightened of the ghey thing on fab, whatever that may be

Only 1 % of fab uses the forum so wouldn't impact on getting laid more or less.

I have been on fabs 6 years.. and I find some people will simply ignore what I write - usually 'straight' males who will then privately send me a reply.

I put it down to ignorance, their choice in who they want to engage in a discussion with, and also my choice in who I want to speak to on a forum.

Half the time men only start topics on here to get a fuck...you know the ones; they ask peoples opinions on something, if you reply to their question they then message you.

So as well as only wanting to chat for sex reasons, they also send PMs so this might be why they don't appear to be chatting in the forums as much?

Person above has said similar.

Not sure if most women feel like this, but i prefer to chat in the forums rather than take it to PM because idk feels less 'threatening' to chat here than via PM. Threatening seems like the wrong word but what i mean is many guys tend to be more pushy in PM where no-one can see what they're typing at you.

I respond to threads that catch my eye - sometimes I read it and enjoy and don't feel the need to respond if I have nothing to add

I don't really bother with who started it and don't see how my responses will affect my chances.

I think you have to reply to topics straight away to get a response really, otherwise they go off topic or regulars start chatting amongst themselves and other people cba to reply then coz the topic got cliquey.

I meant for topics and forums in general.

Hardly anyone reads the whole thread, they read it until they get bored, and that's sometimes after they only read the topic subject. But if you're near the first reply then your comment is more likely to be read and more likely to get a reply (topics you start yourself won't count in this).

Also many only reply to give their opinion and don't really care to start a discussion or conversation.

Asking for help topics might get a good response if the question isn't constantly asked on here, coz most people like to help others but they also get sick of repeating themselves.

That's just how forums work overall.

Add on that most people are looking for a fuck, well if they wanna fuck you then they'll try and get noticed by you and reply too, via PM sometimes as well as on here.

Instead of putting it down to people thinking replying to you might hurt their chances maybe consider the possibility you haven't been posting interesting posts?

Each to their own, some things people will find interesting some they won't.

I've made threads I thought were interesting/comical, something have taken off others haven't.

I really wouldn't worry about it.

Get yourself known on the forums, have fun, chat openly about any mix of topics, try not to be the first person to jump on a new thread, and lastly. ....be respectful of other forum users.

This is a fun place to be

Yep it's definately clicky at times and I was going to quit the forums. But then there was an awesome thread from a guy claiming his wife was pregnant after secretly having anal sex with a colleague - then I decided to stick around longer, it was priceless entertainment

I tend to post on things that interest me and things I feel I have to voice my opinion about. I think some people certainly take over and whilst some are posting interesting things, others are just repeating the same thing over and over again (like me, hahaha). Whilst it is true the same threads come up over and over again, I have noticed less of the derogatory comments about this recently. It is interesting to have some debate ... but I think I miss a fair few just because I am at work or sorting family issues or spending time in the real world. I very rarely pm based on threads, unless its something very specific and only have once to get a meet, but then I am a woman, so maybe that is why ....

We often don't talk in the forums because the thread literally leaves you speechless. As the lady said, great entertainment.

I'm happy to talk shit with anyone! I have ignore cliquey stuff and barge in anyway.

I love forums. People are fascinating. I learn stuff I didn't know before, I'm not afraid to admit I don't know stuff, I ask questions, I reply even though someone may not be talking to me and I don't care if I get a response or not. I'm not interested in losing my cool over forum debates and I generally don't get personal over petty stuff. I tend not to get into religion, politics or the games threads but I reply if I have something I think is worth saying out loud. It works for me.

I think sometimes forums can come over as cliquey but only when you're not in the clique. There's no-one stopping you joining in. Cliques grow all the time. I prefer to think of them as friendship circles.

That's my view too, I only respond to threads I feel I can contribute to.
