Think carefully before you try it. The best advice I heard is as follows:

1) Fold your thumb over and measure the circumference of your hand at its widest.

2) Find something in the house approximately the same circumference (bottle, vegetable or whatever).

3) Look at what you have found and imagine using something that size for penetration, - if the idea is scary then don't try it!

I think as with all things it is personal to the time and place. If it going to work it will feel right i.e. Without lube you are almost there because the position, natural wetness and relaxation are all correct. We get so many queries in this topic and there is some excellent advice here and some not so. I am no expert but I am well experienced. Its got to be something you really want to try. Even if just curious.
