A wee question for the ladies looking for men & who have inboxes that are bursting at the seams.

For every 100 messages, roughly how many are;

From women?

From couples?

From guys within a suitable distance?

From guys hundreds of miles away?

Of the "hey hows u!?" / "meet now?" / abusive variety?

Not many. Deleted over 300 yesterday and none were from women. Today i got messages from women but it was because of something in the forums and that's usually why i get them from women.

Had a few random 'women' chat me up, i suspected they were men so blocked single women for a while.

"From couples?"

1 or 2 will be from couples. I'm guessing it's the male half, or they will actually mention it is "the male half here".

"From guys within a suitable distance?"

Most of them. I class 40 miles as suitable.

"From guys hundreds of miles away?"

A small amount, maybe 20 or so out of 100. Mostly Scotland, Wales, or London.

"Of the "hey hows u!?" / "meet now?" / abusive variety?"

Over half of them are unrepliable to. Compliments, hows you, what you up to. Meet now is rare unless i put up a status for a meet. Most guys actually do send a decent first message to me.

None are abusive since i put my filters back down to guys 38 or younger.

I'd say at the moment I'm getting 90% from women and couples (including mm couples).

Maybe half of those from guys are "meet now" or "hi sexy" messages.

Thanks for the responses. I asked because you hear a lot of "so many idiot guys" "stop with the abusive messages" type rants & I wondered what the average woman's inbox is like on fab. The number of times I've sent a message & had it deleted before it's been opened made me wonder just how bad it is for women on fab.

I'm an average woman and my inbox is largely message free. Hope that helps answer your question.

My filters are always on so never once had 100+ messages.

Never get any from women coz im not looking for them.

Very few from couples. If i do its just the guy trying it on or looking to play away. Again, im not looking for them/that.

Suitable distance prob 95%.

Miles away.. Very few. If any its guys on stag nights in my area. No ta.

'Hey you', 'meet now', 'hey bby', ' put the kettle on', 'copy n paste'...kinda stuff gets automatically ignored. As do all of mail from bi guys.

Most of the mail I get are from local guys to be honest problem is they are either to young or to close, (coming up as within a mile) for some reason I seem to attract the younger age group I don't get many messages at all from guys within the age range I'm looking for

I get a fair few from couples and the odd one from single woman

At a guess- women 1%, couples 10%, local guys 60%, distant guys 29%

Many mails are 'hey' 'hi' 'how are you'. I don't see the issue, I reply anyway.

Abusive mails- probably 0.5%. Nice mails saying thank you for replying- loads.

Do an experiment for a day. Delete your profile text and replace it with some generic 'looking to meet guys' statement. Keep all your pics, upload a new one so it goes in the new pic page. Put a status update on. Then see if there's a difference.

I don't think I get more than a 100 messages per year and that's because of my filters. No idea of proportion as once message is deleted I don't think about them again

I want to add that just because i get mostly 'nice' messages it doesn't mean they've read my profile. Could be a c&p or a generic message that isn't offensive. If they mention tattoos it's guaranteed they looked at my pics lol.

People will whinge about their inbox though, even if you only get 10 messages and they're all crap then that would be disappointing or whinge worthy i reckon.
