We are back on the scene after a few years we feel it has changed it appears that the amount of people who are wasters has risen and the abusive or rudness is more prevalant what do you think?

Much harder yes a lot of time wasters too have started to appear. Also it appears many more single guys who can't read profiles......

Don't give up though there are some real genuine people here it just takes a bit longer to find them x

Its changed a massive amount and now takes ages to get a meet. Not long back you could post a meet and within a few hours have 5 or 6 decent couples to choose from. Such a shame now as it seems lots of folks on here just like the idea of swinging or just wanna chat and no further.

i think it has changed.... in the sense that there is sense of entitlement from some people that wasn't as previlant before....

it was much easier to pick out those people.....

i think some people want it given to them on a plate... as opposed to having to sell themselves (call it the blame everyone else culture)

Not sure if it's a change in attitude or a change in method that doesn't quite express the attitude enough. We started on the scene 8 years ago, and only joined this site last late last year. We find a massive difference between getting together with people on here to meeting chatting and getting together with people at a club.

Considering 75% to 90% of communication is para verbal, so much gets lost in translation with digital communication. Combine that with the emotional difference between sitting behind a keyboard engaged in faceless talk, to actual face to face talk.

Of course, more and more people are finding out about the site (through awfully targeted advertising of FAB being advertised via dating sites) where many just join who have little interest in the swinging scene, and do just want sex and expect it to be handed to them on a plate, with little care or interest in who's pants they are trying to get into.

Worth remembering how technology has moved on. So many more people have smart phones and tablets. All easy to hide from others and get lost in. Quick, fast, faceless messages. Action with no consequence. Disposable identities. Add to the fact that typing a long message is not suited to a touch screen key board plus you can do so at work, the bus stop, in a waiting room. Worst of all they work when d*unk.

Maybe the site has or hasn't changed but the habits of society have.

The "scene" hasn't really changed much...what has changed is that many more are now aware of the site...many more guys (often not as single as they claim?)

The problem being expectations....thinking the site is some kind of instashag.......

They then get abusive when Sussed out by the more experienced among the site members. Also more of a distortion in numbers/balance?

The one's I have been to down south have been in clubs, but I know it can be difficult to allow single guys. But some do do forum member socials, Extasia was the last one I was at x

For us, the scene or this site among others has changed and not for the positive. That's not a reflection on the people that run this site or help or those that are genuine.

It's getting more and more difficult to separate the wheat from the chaff so to speak.

This site is one possible way to meet people. We now explore different avenues to arrange meets.

I was on here a couple of years ago and was different then people had conversations via message wanted to meet at clubs now you'd be lucky to get that. I've found they either have such specific wants needs and shallow views on looks or worse there so insecure they like the attention then go shy when you ask to meet.

My conclusion is there's just to much on offer out there it's more about knowing look I can get lots of people who want to meet me but ill just string them all on to stroke my ego.

We find it more of a 'sex site' than a swingers site which is so annoying and frustrating. The way some people talk to us is extremely rude. Opening lines such as 'Does she take it up the arse' appears more common. People also get very offended when you reject them.

think the whole thing is just more open and popular and the range of people involved much wider - so more time wasters and more players - just simply a larger crowd to sift through - we just dont have the time to play with all the people we have chatted to and agreed that we all get on - moaning doesnt really help apart from bringing all the moaners together - enjoy it - life is too short

Always known swinging as couples swapping when I first joined here it was like that I had a partner then . All I see now is couple searching bi fem seems like it's all about men in the relationship getting what they want and the partner doing it to keep them happy.

You would be shocked the amounts of single women I've spoke to who, have told me the amounts of time they have meet a couple for them to fall out halfway through the meet as the woman gets jealous.

Nothing shocks me anymore. Swinging has moved on, it is many different things. Couples that only meet couples are a minority these days.

And definitely this! There was also a thread on here not long after we joined. It was about how people used the site. The general consensus was that yes there were loads who hadn't and indeed didn't ever want to play, but that is OK. It also discussed the rise in single male membership. That was deemed OK too.

In my view, both were a mistake because today we have masses of single guys coming from dating sites and diluting the pool. Making it very hard to find the genuine ones. We also have the same with single fems, but at least they keep the excess of single guys busy!

We also have the couples who seem to be on here in only one gender. They mail to become friends and that is all. Lots of talk but no do! Certainly not as it was when we started in the 90's

Someone posted that this is a Facebook of swinging! Very good description. But then, it is a site that gets paid through advertising by numbers, it is in their interests to get as many as possible.

We don't have much luck on here anymore and we have sort of backed away a little from this site, but we still live in hope...

I am, not the site, but I think there has been a huge change in mens attitudes to be honest.

Whether because there has been many exposures of the site by the press over the years? I have no idea. But then I have been here 6 years so yes I have noticed a huge difference. The scene and the site are two different things we met played and become friends with some great people who have never been members on here or any other site. I think one of the main problems with fab it's become a victim of it own success and there are a lot of people who use the site for other things other than meeting there is nothing wrong with that but ultimately it could be the sites downfall

To take on someone's earlier comments; why am I imagining a nice large house in an upmarket estate. Middle management cars in the drive, in the house well to do white professional and executive types mingling with their professional wives discussing the economy and politics. Well spoken accents everywhere and car keys in a bowl. Sade playing on the Bose hifi soon everyone disapears with someone elses partner for a few hours of tasteful sex, reappearing for a last sherry and then home.

Both posters here have been on the site for less than a year. We have been here many years and yes, it has changed. It is more difficult to meet suitable couples, but if you will shag anything, easy peasy!

Trouble is, we have some standards that we won't drop. For instance, up to size 14 for ladies and the equivalent in men. No facial hair on either partner!

We also gauge from the pictures if we are likely to gel. Open genital shots, bodily fluid shots and very graphic shots are likely to make us avoid contacting them. Singles and FB couples are also out. That has just put out 90% of the people on Fab! But it didn't when we first came on here.

Yes, it is our own fault, but we are here for us. To find what we want as is everyone else. So we won't drop our standards for a shag!

We still meet some of our friends on this site, but have to confess, we have more luck elsewhere. Not complaining, just have to agree with the OP

I don't think that this is really the case with a lot of those who say it has changed. And I can't imagine that you would be suggesting that because the demographic has changed on here, that we should change our preferences.

Fact is, there are a lot more people who don't fit our wants now, than there were when we joined. We have no interest in singles, but the rise in singles on here seems exponential! It is the same with other preferences.

Lets say this though, it is not a complaint, we still do OK, maybe not from here all the time, but we are not short of meets as a rule. But it is harder to sort out those who fit. That is made difficult as well by "creative photography" lol

But all in all, as a social site it does us well. Yes we will meet people from here if they are about, but we have other avenues..

Just to add - with the internet becoming ever more accessible, more people are going to find out about fab etc. that in turn will bring more time wasters, fakes, but also more genuine people too.

It's easy enough to log on and become anyone you want, we've found the most genuine people are to be found at clubs/socials.

I'd never suggest anyone changes their preferences - trust me!

I just look on the positive side.

More people in the scene means more potential matches, as well as more that don't. It may mean taking more time looking, being a little more suspicious and cynical on occasion and relying on common sense and gut feeling rather than just assuming all is as it appears - but a little more hard work isn't always a bad thing as it's likely to bear better quality, more compatible 'fruit'!

As for the creative photography?

See my thread "The good old days". I'm sure people had tricky decisions to make and the occasional disappointment when relying on fuzzy, badly taken Polaroids.
