House cleaning before a meet...

Ok so my house is never dirty but by midweek it can look a little lived in and the carpet could do with an Hoover....if I have a meet planned I can often spend the whole evening before cleaning from top to bottom (the house that is). Just wondering what other people do....is it s a case of take me as you find me, a quick tidy round or enough bleach and washing powder to last a lifetime?

Just curious.

I usually just do a quick clean up, so it look visually clean, no need for a deep clean lol.

This is me as well! I live alone, so not a high priority until I arrange a meet and then it is full panic mode

Based on your pics I wouldn't be looking at the cleanliness of your house!

Wow

Totally agree....I often spend more time eyeing up the background than the 'subject' of the picture.

Only accommodated twice. First was a full in depth clean, second I was more relaxed so more of a hide things in cupboards and drawers approach

I just keep on top of the housework as it happens, so never need to do much cleaning or tidying up before a meet. Saying that though, my wardrobe is overflowing with clothes so my bedroom is messy a bit.

My place is clean and usually tidy. I don't do anything extra for meets.

I clean the place , then give the line 'sorry for the mess', just in case I missed a bit.

Always give the place a spruce up....especially before a party as all rooms will be used.

Couldn't invite anyone in if the bathroom wasn't clean!

Not noticed the fingernails , but I have seen a couple of lovely kitchens that I wouldn't mind having .

but not sure about the approach ' you look fantastic , can I ask who fitted your kitchen '. Not sure that would sound so good .

Cleaning your place before a meet should be a must for all.

We all get blow outs on meets so when they dont turn up, you can sit back and admire your handy work, kettle on, (and spot the bits you missed)

If they didnt arrange a meet I doubt id be arsed to get me feather duster out.

If they do come, by the time they leave the place is a tip again and you have to re clean what you already cleaned earlier.

So, Timewasters, you do have a purpose.

We always clean our place completely before a meet at ours. We have dogs, so vacuuming and such is pretty important before people come over.

We once went to a couple's house for a social/see how it goes type meet. Their house was a mess (found a chip in the couch cushions!). We ended up not playing and we haven't been back. I'm a bit ocd, but it put me right off.

This is one of the reasons I don't really like to host. I am extremely fussy and slightly ocd about my flat.

Before a meet I'd be cleaning for hours! Every bit of dirt makes me feel like a slob.

I've also left a meet before because the flat was rather grimy and I got bitten by something.

We always have a clean and tidy up beforehand, though the house is always clean and tidy anyway, so not too much effort required
