sure this has been done to death but.....

do usernames sometimes put you off meeting people?

the ones im thinking of are the cocky ones

No not really. With the number of people on here it's tricky trying to come up with original names, which haven't been chosen already, so out of desperation most people come up with variations on a theme.

I quite like the humorous varieties but ultimately make my decisions based on their profile text, the way it's written, and the photos if any, to get an impression of the type of person it is.

We never really refer to usernames or login names, and prefer instead to their individual names on their profiles, such as Him and Her, Dog and Bitch, etc

we saw one recently and our first thought was ' would we mail someone with that username'

not logical i know but the name to us seemed weird

so we didn't..no biggie

but hey ho!
