What are your thoughts on being asked to show face pics early on in a conversation? As in:

"Hi, how are you?"

"Good thanks"

"Great, got any face pics?"

We are very private people and whilst we understand why people would like to see our face pics; we're not going to eagerly produce them before we have any idea if the conversation is going anywhere. Obviously some people will say the conversation can't go anywhere unless they know what we look like, but is it unreasonable to want to establish mutual interests first? We're not f-ugly nor are we super models and we've got plenty of other pics on our profile for people to get an idea whether they'd be turned on in our company...

If you don't have time for a quick social or don't meet in clubs then I guess swapping face pics relatively early cuts down on the backtracking later when after several messages you find there's no attraction.

Horses for courses really.

Agree, attraction is important but just asking for a pic straight away is a bit tactless.

That's what we feel. It's like we're meeting half way by putting 11/12 pics on our profile and then we get couples with nothing but a cock shot pushing for a face pic. Half the time they haven't read our profile and have something on theirs that makes it questionable whether we'd be suitable

Re: being tactless - this is our main objection, it just makes us wonder whether they care about our pleasure or just their own, or whether they would have bad social skills if we did go for a social meet. It's not the be all and end all, but it does raise the question. Normally we stay on the cautious side and hit block

The conversation highlighted in the OP wouldn't get a response from us, as they should send theirs with the request.

Having said that, if there's an initial attraction body-wise the sooner the better to find out if there's an attraction face-wise otherwise everyone's time is just wasted.

See if there's a mutual attraction, if not, no bother, if there is, great. But it is important (to some, others not so much, each to their own).

Face picture for me once I am enjoying chatting to the person(s).

Once they have my attention and the conversation is in full flow and I know I could meet these people and get on that's when I ask to see there face picture.

I understand many do not like sending them and can understand, if that is the case.

You should then say we will go on Skype now and say hi.

Its a shame that people are worried and so they should the amount of wasters on this site, stealing pictures putting them on twitter etc.

Not getting on one here but the owners of the site need to police the site better and it can be done.

If they did that no doubt I would pay a donation each month towards the site and for the up keep.

But right now, it debatable to come of and just go to clubs as that is where there are genuine people.

If people ask me for face pics straight away it annoys me intensely.

If you're chatting to me, presumably it means that you somewhat liked the pics I have on display and my profile, great start, but now lets chat a little bit and see if we feel any chemistry first, and let the face pic exchange happen naturally, a much better way to build attraction than the cold, antiseptic practice of insisting on seeing them before you even start a dialogue.

I agree with a lot of the posts here - I'd much rather email back and forth for a while to get a "feel" for the person/couple before sending face pics. Unfortunately most profiles seem to demand one immediately which is a shame.

It used to bother me but the more time goes on the easier I find it to trust people, thankfully we don't seem to have had any odd ones only people actually interested in meeting. I do feel like you can see a lot more about the kind of person by their face than their bodies so I always appreciate being sent a face pic ... Completely understand why it's unsettling though x

I often message guys first and will always attach a face pic. If I'm not for them then no time is wasted. I only message guys who have face pics in public so I know if they're for me. I think its only polite that if you message someone first and you have none on your profile, you attach one and if you're going to ask for one, attach one with that message.

I won't get into much of a conversation if I can't see who I'm speaking to. I may go about it differently to the conversation in the OP, but I don't want to run the risk of telling a work colleague my kinks and interests then sending a face pic over! Plus for me there is no chemistry without facial attraction...maybe I'm shallow but so be it. I also want to give those I'm messaging the option to tell me I'm not their type too before we spend too much time on idle chat.

None of my face pics are remotely sexual though so I think that takes a bit of pressure off with the whole pic swap thing...I don't share anything naughty that my Mum could identify me from so it wouldn't matter if my face pics turned up on twitter, they could have been taken from facebook.

it does pay to be careful, I'm a teacher and on previous sites I was a member I was approached by a student that I recognised, reputation matters and people don't want someone who is a "sexual deviant" teaching there children..... loss of job is motivation enough for me to hand them out in a more private manner

Absolutely! I dont have time to be meeting whoever asks! And how didappoibting must it be when a guy turns up and says no? Although in fairness any single guy who's prepared to get all dolled up to meet a complete stranger he's never seen will probably stay for the sex regardless.

Face pictures are used on name & shame site's... so if they are so keen on face pics move on.you need to communicate first

Some people keep demanding ridiculous task. When you send pictures. Some will still complain the picture is not of (recent enough).

I get enough messages with pics to ignore anyone who doesn't send me one with a first message.

It's highly unlikely i'd even reply to anyone without one unless their message was really fun and made me want to reply. I have met a few people whose conversation was that good i didn't even realise they hadn't sent me pics or i hadn't seen them.
