I got chatting to my current fuck buddy when she wasn't meeting due to a broken leg. I guess its nice to chat to people if you're layed up or just fancy being social. Nowhere does it say you have to meet people when you're online.

Status - the relative position of an individual within a group.

It is exactly what it say's, i.e. 'Not meeting' they are informing people of that position...

It doesn't mean thay theu can't use the site, nor browse or chat to others.... It simply means they're 'not meeting'

Some people would never have it as a status, but won't meet anyone either. Some just like chatting and camming etc. all down to personal choice.

I've been a prolific meeter but I'm currently loved up with a vanilla guy and only doing club meets and parties (Yep, he knows about it, before anyone asks)

I have this at the top of my profile but see no reason to hide said profile - my profile, my choice

If you delete everything (i.e. 'men, couples' etc) off your Looking for list it takes you off the searches.... hence drastically reducing mail.

Maybe they are meeting but don't want loads of mail asking to meet but prefer to ask to meet if they find someone they like. And yet continue to recieve mail that only involves chat

It's a perfectly valid comment , and we have to say we err on the side of the op on this one .

If one has no intention of meeting , it does make sense to use filters and to take oneself out of the search criteria . Well at least it does to those of us who use the site to meet anyway .

The usual plethora of those saying they can use the site as they wish to is fair enough , but it's still a fair question on an open forum isn't it ?

We state we are not meeting on our profile because it is a temporary situation.

We still want people to be able to read our profile and see what we like etc.

If we hide our profile no one would know if we were meeting or not

Most statuses are for attention!

When a persons messages ad winks are drying up they put up a status ie not meeting .

Then the messages start again , why are u not meeting and hey presto the attention is back again !

We all crave attention its in everybody's DNA

I should think the best thing to do if you don't understand something on a profile is to message and ask them or failing that, move on to a profile that is meeting and interests you. No one has to explain themselves or their current reasons for being active on site and not meeting. All I know is, I'd never have met my fuck buddy of 2 years if she hadn't have been online chatting after she broke her leg and was unable to meet at that point.
