Best reason/excuse for not meeting someone

I'm often amused by the reasons/excuses people come up with for not meeting. However yesterday I received what I think was probably the best when I was informed that "they" would not meet me because I wear glasses?? Can anybody top that? Pmsl

I had a guy cancel a meet because he'd had a better offer

I wouldn't have minded but he didn't decide to tell me until I was at the agreed meeting place waiting for him

In principle this is a valid reason, wouldn't deliver it that way or identity which party wasn't happy though.

"I'm sorry but I'm still in work can we reschedule?" well into the appointed meeting time.

The list goes on and on, and there are some other funny ones I won't bother mentioning because they ended up being real. We were once 40 minutes late for a social meet because the train ahead of ours broke down and ours had to slowly push it into Leeds station...I'm honestly surprised the other couple bothered waiting but we were telling the truth. Go figure.

People do seem to use an excuse involving their nan quite a lot don't they ? An awful lot of cars seem to fail the MOT just before a meet too !

If i cant be arsed or not in th mood I just tell them but most guys either dont have the balls or partner finds out!

I was stood up 5x's in one night at a club. Only realised halfway through the night that none of the fantasists had turned up. All mailed afterwards with bullshit excuses I can't even remember. Didn't stop me having a good night.

Glasses lol

Why, nearly all my family members were them, and cause of that it naturally turns me off even super model good looking guys...

I even had to ask my self if i would turn down superman..... i would make him look in the mirror and give himself eye laser surgery lol

Based on past forum posts, pet injuries and deaths crop up too. I've had one of them given as a reason.

There must be some strange supernatural force at work that causes so many injuries and deaths around the time of meets.

'You weren't my first choice', has been quoted on here too: honesty is good but I think I'd prefer to hear a white lie, if that was the reason someone didn't show.

Our first meet, I almost did not make it and text black cop to say my daughter had twisted her ankle badly so I may have to take her to get it sorted, but instead told her to go to dance class and let the teacher see it ...you would have to know her to know she always exaggerates everything .... we did meet, and her ankle was fine with a pack of frozen peas on it, and the rest is history. we do laugh about it, though, as he was convinced it was an attempt to get out of the meet ...
