"Hi We are about to invest in a sex swing. We are planning on installing it in our converted garage. Hubby is planning to install it straight into the joists. Is this OK? Jx" I might be tempted to reinforce the beam. Being a garage it will have considerably lower load specifications than Your main house. Also what sort of vintage is the garage? Older garages would be stronger unless you have had rotten wood Problems, modern garages have very thin lattice frames designed to be loaded from above supporting the roof tiles. Now loaded from underneath, my garage is made of 2" x 3" wood section and I get it to creak suspiciously with only 100kg suspended load, add some enthusiastic side loading and I would be worried about eating concrete. | |||
