Every now and then I scan through the new members lists. It's just a gut feeling, and I've not got the anorak out to count precisely, but what is it that makes the number of new members from Scotland seem so very high in proportion to the population of the place?

What do they put in the haggis up there? Should we all be eating more porridge and drinking more whiskey down this side of the border?
