what size is average?

Alot of average size people on here . So what dress size is average ? And guys , what waist size is average?

If I'm looking at a women then if she says average dress size, then she'd be better be between an 8-10. That to me seems average. But there's still a caveat with that in that their height would also make a difference to how she looked. If she's 5'1" and a size 10, she's going to look quite rounded.

For guy's, I would assume an average waist size is from a 32" to a 36". But much would depend on height to waist ratio's. Because if you're only 5'6" and have a 36" waist, you're going to look big.

Actual average size for women now is a 16, was a 14 last year but has gone up.

Not sure what any of the sizes actually mean though because people interpret stuff differently, i've got ample but only because nothing else seems to apply to me and now size 16 is average and i'm less than that i feel i might change it but no idea what to. I just look at pics myself and see what someone looks like from them.

Average uk size is size 16, it used to be a size 14 a few years ago

I would say for my personal preferance average would now be 14-16 and how beautiful an average woman is too.....

So the average size is on the increase and I would appear,its growing quicker than our waist line . So todays average was yesterdays over weight ?

Difficult to gauge accurately by dress/waist size anyhow as sizes are notoriously unreliable and vary massively between brands or according to body shape and particular item of clothing.

I usually wear a 30" waist, but, I swear my actual waist size is more like 32". I reckon its all a con by manufactures to make people feel slimmer than they actually are!

It makes me smile when a woman starts jumping for joy when she finds one particular item which fits in a size or two smaller than she usually takes....then starts proclaiming (something like) 'I'm a size 10!!', despite the fact that everything else I her wardrobe is a 12/14 (not that there is anything wrong with that).

We are all so easily duped

Average is very different from what some may consider ideal or what you are supposed to be. Average is probably 12 to 16. Besides anyone any size can be attractive it just depends on the individual.

Yes. Because the average person just means the usual size for a person, and the usual size now is a 16. It's still overweight as well, according to health charts.

If more people were a smaller size then the average would go down again.
