Isn't it the mixture that counts? By the way, if you want to be taken seriously, I would consider losing the user name.

on the road to nowhere in particular

I would imagine that most seasoned BDSMers would not take any 50 shades references very seriously. There is much more than just pain and pleasure involved.

I totally agree, but is it really anything to do with what you call yourself here? I think not, but still would like to know your thought on this??

Most people outside of and not understanding BDSM assume they are going to be flogged to death.

Each sub being different, with different tastes and inclinations, has `levels`.

Like selecting the gears on a bike, once determined a subs levels , you work your way thru them, gradually, until you have reached THEIR optimum level, and hence pleasure.

Even the most extreme sub guys and girls, started out having lower, quite vanilla levels initially.

ps. always looking for new subs who having read my profile, want to test their levels

of course you want to know our thoughts, but you didnt share yours !

By default, when i see or here the phrase "50 shades" my brain automatically finishes of with "of shite" since that book there has been no end of mr gray's and 50 shades of shite usernames. It just looks like someone jumping on a populist band wagon. I have spoken to a few mr grays who have no bdsm equipment other than joke shop cuffs and an old tie for a blindfold. I didnt see the film but saw a trailer were someone goes to a hardware store and asks for cable ties. i think it was quite an irresponsible reference as it did not specify re usable cable ties which at least can be undone or loosened.

Think that "book" has a lot to answer for and has created a lot of misconception and wannabes.

"Hi again just wondered what the ladies thought about bdsm pleasure not pain? What do you you like and what don't you like? Really interested in what everyone has to say on this ??"

BDSM isn't about pleasure and pain for me. It's about trust and intimacy.

I like the feelings that you can't get through any other thing you do, I like the honesty and openness with no judgement. I like that feeling where nothing else matters or exists other than the scene you're in.

And I have to agree with the other posters that a 50 shade reference is not likely to attract anyone experienced in the lifestyle because most the women in office have read it... its the bdsm equivalent of a white zinfandel... no will assume you're a wine connoisseur with a reference like that

Because people consent to it. There's the difference.

As a sub, impact play and marks are part of my basic fetish needs. I actually crave this kind of play and will climb the walls if I don't get it. It's a mixture of pain and arousal but also it's very cathartic for me. It's not my Dom's kink. He does this with me because he enjoys watching my body react when my need is satisfied. It's never used as 'punishment' it's used as reward.

Very true. Unfortunately some people think that taking the piss out of that book makes them look clever. It doesn't.

There were some good answers too.

STOKE-ON-TRENT

If you want to find out what the BDSM & fetish scene is like for real try getting out to local Munches where some of those into the scene meet to chat.

Or get out to local Fetish Events such as those at Club Atlantis Evolution in Stoke or others all over he country.

If you contacted us for a meet apart from not looking to meet single men your username would put us off. But as your not and asking a question I will attempt a answer !!

I don't really understand the first part of the question What are you asking ,we think about ?

The second part of the question is a hugely open question as bdsm is a huge all encompassing acronym which you could fill pages and pages with just explaining what comes under the term. To explain what I liked and disliked would take even longer and take even more space. Also it's very fluid as to what I like and don't as it changes from day to day and even during the course of play and can differ depending on who I am playing with.

Not much help I know

The tease of BDSM is a great aphrodisiac having given away control. Any pain is to add to that feeling of lack of control.

This is the way I like to play BDSM (I am a Switch)and have been doing so as a Dom for a long time

Just recently started exploring this and realised what I've been missing. It really is about giving power, teasing and the amazing highs that result. Pain isn't a part for me, but each to their own.

As for the book it really is a waste of paper, even after my limited experience

I agree. The curious have to start their exploration of BDSM somewhere and if it's triggered by a book, great.

But there is so much more worthwhile information and erotica to read on BDSM and D/s on blogs and websites.

There are also a lot of women into the 50 Shades stuff which might be at a level you want to play it. Tie and tease in the bedroom. So Ignore the critics.

But not 'Retour à Roissy' which is, in my opinion, a pile of shite.
