Hamburg, although it's technically a harbour, what's the difference between port and harbour ?

"Hamburg, although it's technically a harbour, what's the difference between port and harbour ?"

A port is commercial (i.e. goods being loaded or unloaded) and usually manmade. A harbour is basically somewhere natural or manmade where boats can shelter or whatever the boat equivalent of parking is.

Hamburg isn't technically a harbour then, please ignore me.

cahoots

I used to sell port for a living...anything from the Symmington family estates are always good such as Grahams, Warre's Dow's etc and Taylors port is always a good bet too. I hope the OP is finding this useful...I for one didn't know the difference between a port and a harbour.
