"Neither....Audi R8 for me " My favorite car of the moment !!! But out of the 3 choices available a petrol head is most likely to enjoy a Ferrari for a REAL drive.

"if its all about driving fast on track, try one of the tracks that rent out single seaters, the grip braking and speed are way ahead of any road car." I thought about that, but having done that and ended up in a 1.6 Formula Ford with no synchromesh and a gearstick by my shoulder, I'd probably be quicker in a Focus ST than one of them. So still the Ferrari for me

"Ferrari, Aston Martin or Lamborghini? If you had the choice to drive one (if you don't already) which would you choose? I'm buying a track day for the o/h and am unsure which to opt for, I personally would choose the Aston, but its not for me lol Any suggestions as I know men think differently " aston martin...sex on wheels

"Lambo ferrari aston - neither! They cant do corners, plus on trackdays they are cheap versions of the reaal thing. ie: broken parts are repaired and repaired and.... or replaced with cheaper parts affecting power, speed, handling. Are they limited - maybe. The instructors certainly limit you so you wont get to find out. They do not let you get anywhere near using the full potential of the cars. For bragging rights to your friends ok any car. But remember on the road, well they cant do corners! I know this for a fact. An experience that would stand out would be to buy him a ticket for driving one of the race cars, be it a single seater or saloon or even a honda legend - they are an awesome experience (if avail at your nearest track). Dont buy rally experience if its available(this is how i know above). Hope this helps. PS: if he ever wants a powerful road car that can do corners, he should have one just like mine. 300bhp, mainly rear wheel drive, coupe, limited slip diff is only driving aid, awesome. Any guesses on what it is? someone will guess make easily but i challenge you all to give me the full model name. " I've bought him a track day and its not to brag, its a birthday gift. am I right in guessing the full name of your car is....A penis extension?

" In response to: I've bought him a track day and its not to brag, its a birthday gift. am I right in guessing the full name of your car is....A penis extension? Oh hang on a wee minute. I was just giving advice from wasting so much of my own saved hard earned pennys on same. Im nuts about motorsport and therefore powerful motors, but unfortunately cant take part through illness (insulin dependant diabetes). But this is how i know the info i have given. I was only trying to help. My own car?! No its not a penis extention, thats for me to know on whether i'll ever need one of those. Usually when i go to motorsport events i drive my runaround (2000 fiesta 1.25 engine, navy with lots of rust - thats it, and i love it). My sportscar is my pride and joy which i worked hard for, that hardly leaves my backyard out of everyones view. I have it for polishing and the odd sunday drive as it is the nearest thing to the type of motorsport i would like/dream of taking part in but unfortunately never will take part in as im banned through illness. Thankyou - not. Im offended at your public message to my 'first ever message' on a forum, i had to pluck up the guts to post it (im shy) and this is the response i get! Sorry for my post if that makes any difference, but i really am offended. I did not realise you had actually bought the experince. I thought you were about to. My mistake - i only read the first post. Im sorry. As you have already bought the experience then go for the ferrari as its the most famous therefore he will have plenty of reminders in the future (ie: tv, newspapers, mags) about his good day out from his partner/girlfriend/wife and no doubt he will have a wry smile at each reminder he gets. Plus its the most historical and successful marque of the three choices. If its a oneoff then he will probably never forget the first gear change, the first noise, the first etc etc. Hopefully you can see his face when he turns the ignition key. No matter what the choice is its a very good present youve got for him and even though im not into these cars i certainly would not turn down any chance to drive any of them. Now he can pretend to be The Stig for a day (lol). I apologise for any offence/annoyance i may have caused, but can i please make clear i did not intend any offence/annoyance or blowing my own trumpet. I was just setting up further discussion following your post. One thing is for sure - i wont be messaging publicly in the forums again. James. " Blimey! That's a bloody long post for a quiet, shy person! Sorry though, from the tone of your post I was thinking penis extention too. Not saying that's right, just smacks of bragging a bit. Must say, never seen a rusty 00 plate fiesta, but will take a stab at your road car (which you then describe as a sports car despite going to great lengths to distinguish the two?) as a Vauxhall Monaro?

"Go for the R8 if you can, defo not the Aston, it will break down before the end of lap one!!!!! Talking to a pal who has a DB9 and it's actually been back at the dealers more than he's been able to drive it, nothing serious but lots of niggling things that should not happen on a car your paying that much money for!" The Vanquish at the company I used to work for was always going back, as was the db9... saying that the gallardo broke too.. as did the 360 and the 355.. They have two r8, one with the newer bigger engine and they are both okay most of the time.. If I was having a track day I would want to go to silverstone and do their rally day.. in a old escort.. or any rwd rally car. On the track my scoob or clio was fun. Katie. x

A lot of High performance cars breakdown. I've a TVR Cerbera, and as you know, TVR's are noted for niggly electrical probs. I still wouldnt change it. As for on the track. Its awesome. Love to go out Porsche baiting at the weekend too....lol.

"none of them as they dont let u drive them hard " I have never borrowed cars for a track day because of that.. We once hired a track for the day..and someone brought a long a sd1 rover and EVERYONE had a go in that.. lol That was fun.. I think its more about driving the cars that you wont normally get a chance too. :D
