The best candles to buy are bees wax, paraffin candles will do, but they burn hotter and would tend to be a bit smelly.

One attempts to dribble melted wax either indiscriminately over a persons body, not face, predominantly back, or in a creative manner, ie dribbled flowers, animals whatever.

Temperature of melted wax is at its hottest when dribbling from a low height, less than twelve inches, so be careful, and go by the sub's reaction.

Try looking up "thebondageman" they do low melt temp candles for wax play in some lovely colours.

For safety reasons, and because it heightens the sensations and looks gorgeous, I like to cover the recipients face ideally with a fabric hood or scarf.

Then a little bit of gentle teasing as you let the candles start to melt, then off you go. Periodically applying an ice cube to sensitive areas can add to the experience and since once play starts all skin sensations are heightened, knives, feathers etc can all be intensely fun.

Wax on a recently caned arse is fun.

DO NOT use beeswax candles! They burn at 60 degrees - 6-8 degrees hotter than parafin.

Use unscented, uncoloured candles for the lowest burning temp.

We got ours from a burlesque fair, best type of place to get them,

We prefer to use the wax after the arse and back have been whipped etc it adds to the sensation but can be quite hard to take but that suits us.

Another for thebondageman and his candles. They're fantastic, we both use them. Plus, as said above, they trade at most of the alt & burlesque fairs too. Anything on the back is usually relaxing with my partner, on the front - a little more interesting

I have soya based candles. Can't remember where they came from though. They're far better than the regular house candles I tried first.

I think his are soya based, and we've never had a bad experience with them yet... No burns, just kinky fun
