Is it just me, or do others find it strange that you can be on fab for over a year with no verifications and only a few friends. I get mail off them and always delete, they have pics, but surely at least 1 meet x

To be honest, and I dont want to come across as tarring all with the same brush, but as part of our 'selection process' we use that to out people that may be fake.

With all the socials going on, webcams etc, one would think that after a few weeks or months that they would have at least a webcam veri.

Of course, they may still be genuine, but just keep on your toes when chatting to them, just in case.

it does not surprise me at all.

I have been a several sites and I have come to the conclusion that 99% of people are cyber only, and will bottle out when it comes to actually meeting!

there are also the pic collectors.

you just have to sift through them and be very patient

Not really. We joined over a year ago then didn't come back here until about 3 months ago. Therefore we didn't have any veri's or any friends.

There could be numerous reasons.

we have been swinging 5 years on and off and have found that probably only 25% at best of people on the site meet we mostly dont touch profiles where they have been a member for over 12 months and have no verifications but then some dont like putting them on so basically what we are trying to say is swinging is a minefield so we tend to tread carefully lol

Just look for the veritication tick.

Some people like to be discrete about who they play with.

Wouldn’t put us off if we liked someone’s profile enough, never seen the point in passing a profile by that you like, only to become interested in the same profile a few months later when someone else has took the chance and gave them a verification or two, at the end of the day, they’re the same people with the same profile.

Prefer to go by instinct rather than use the lazy approach and wait on others to find out for us if they meet or not. After all how can we say they’re genuine or not without giving them a chance.

The verification system isn't a foolproof system. Just because someone has met one of your "prospects", it doesn't guarantee that they'll meet you

a lot of it is "suck it and see"

and that's where the fun is

i must admit as a single female, the amount of messages and the lack of time, makes me delete the messages from people with no verifications after a year.and these are no ones with no tick. i dont have the time to get into email ping pong with them to find out why???

Sock puppets and faked/spoofed ip numbers should get you all the friends and feedback you want.

So no feedback isn't fool proof.

Someone with no verifications after an extended period of time could be just a non-doer but on the other hand, it could be that they are very fussy and not just looking to collect notches on the bedpost. And lets not forget, that to start with no one had verifications as such. We’ll give most people the benefit of the doubt as in ‘without’ verifications, equally ‘with’ verifications you still need to keep a very open mind, someone with lots of verifications could just be a very good liar.

person a) nice guy, did all there homework... got to know that person, they well be meeting on a regular basis......

person b) , pratt!! but got lucky one night, but quite frankly he is an arse.... they may well have said they would meet 20 other people, but not turn up... a "timewaster" so to speak

person c) has met people... but since they are not varified either they can't do each other (ooooh.... the classic catch 22)

how would you know person "a" from person "b" from person "c"

by looking at varifications... you wouldn't

but you'd look down on "c" who may be "nice guy" or "arse"

lesson of story.... "varifications" are not the be all and end all..... always take with pinch of salt!

Plenty of people join the site, log in once or twice and then forget about it for ages.... sometimes because life get's in the way or they have second thoughts about it being the right place to be or they have a more 'active' site they are established on.

because they don't delete their account when they come back... well you know what happens and how it looks.

I'm not saying it does. I personally dont want to waste my time finding out. I may get it wrong sometimes but most of the time I dont. I've been down the route and gone against my instint, only to regret it. If they lived local, then I may consider it but i'd want to chat on the phone first. Travelled for hours on a few occasions, only to be let down. Never again. Too mant genuine people on here to waste time on dreamers.

I know people don't like 'because they can' answers on these message boards but it's the hard truth....why do people do or don't do a lot of things on their profiles?

I choose only to show three or four verifications at any one time on my profile, that's my choice.....I don't show a facial photo on my profile, that's my choice....

And that's the bottom line.....personal choice!

I might ask why people get so wound up about the content on other peoples profiles......ok, I know....it's their choice!

If they literally don't have the little green tick next to their name, or a green flag for picture verification I'd assume they were either fake or were unsure of whether they wanted to do this, so I wouldn't contact them - I wouldn't confront them either (because its none of my business).

I'm similar with no photos, I got a message from someone today but they said they didn't have photos on here or their computer, so I didn't pursue it.

We have mentioned this before on other threads..but if a couple contacts us and has no feedback after just a couple of months, we will not meet!

We have been lucky with meets and hopefully can spot the fakes. Joined over a year ago with no feedback is in our opinion a fake profile.

We all have opinions on verifications (to much of it etc) but it has served us well getting meets and proving to us that whoever contacts us are real.

Something I forgot to mention…

We go a to a party and shag a few people and then we come home end of. In the days that follow often we get a ‘Hi, it was really great to meet you at the party, I’ve sent you feedback, perhaps you’d send me one’ and then we sit there thinking ‘who the fuck…?’ I think if we ‘chased up’ verifications that shall we say are ‘owed’ or ‘outstanding/overdue’ we could increase our verifications list by a page or three. If people we’ve met, had a great time with, probably more than once, didn’t volunteer to give us feedback we wouldn’t have any, but we’d still be who and what we are.

Do we HAVE TO prove we are who and what we say we are? I think if would-be playmates cannot work that out for themselves chances are they are not our type.

Fair point and you have feedback, so you are real.

But one more example..if a couple contacted us from lets say leeds saying lets meet in a hotel half way.

Would/should we book a hotel without feedback. Or let them book and us travel only to find out they are not real.

Yes the meet still could end up with no one turning up (feedback is not everything) but WE would not risk it without.

I think though the OP has a point, you were not here for more than 9 months so you were not contacting people during that time, I am sure that when you did return you probably did the wise thing and pointed out in your mails that you hadn't used the site for some time.

Yes there could be many reasons why people have not been verified in a long time on the site but like others it makes us much more sceptical about them unless they give and explanation.

It seems that unverified people are being automatically found guilty by association of being fake / timewasters / pic collectors. To me, that's a real shame... and I'm not just saying that because I've been here almost a year yet have no verifications*.

* OK, if you're that interested the reason I have no verifications is because:

a) the one person I have met since I joined is no longer a member (although there is a couple here who know that person and could vouch for me if I was that bothered);

b) I hardly ever use the chat room, and even if I did I don't really think a webcam verification is worth anything - what's to say a "single male's" wife isn't upstairs in bed or at the bingo whilst someone is flirting in the chat room just to get a verification which they then won't display as being webcam-only;

c) Although I've been using the site more these past couple of weeks than I did in the previous 9 months combined it's fair to say that I have other activities I take part in, other than swinging, which take up far more of my time. Swinging is just one of my hobbies, and it's not the most time-consuming one.

d) Until I read this thread I didn't give a fuck about verifications. TBH, I still don't, as I wouldn't not pursue an opportunity simply because someone (like me) has no green tick by their name. There could be numerous reasons why they've not got one.

After seeing how much importance some people place on them, I'm wondering perhaps if I should make more of an effort and go all out to obtain one.

You also have the situation that many people are on several swinging sites, and hard to believe as it may be, but this may not be their #1 choice.

It could well be that they have several verifications (or similar) on other sites, but of course these aren't freely transferable currency, so if this is their #2 or #3 choice, it is very possible that they won't have any verifications on here.

We're now verified on here, only happened today as a result of going to a party last night and meeting somebody who it turns out was verified and could do the same for us.

We've been on here well over a year, probably about 2 actually and we've met people, just not people who could verify us be they weren't verified.

We've now been able to verify them as well, but the fact is that we're no more genuine now than we were 2 years ago. And neither are they. We've never dismissed anyone based on the fact that they aren't verified and never would. We wouldn't have had half the fun we've had otherwise...

it is very hard to understand why some body would not have a veri after being on here for a year. there are a number of socials or parties you can attend as they dont have to be play very jusy something to say they are who they say they are. we as a couple are very wary of chatting to a profile with no veris after a year thats just us tho everybody is different
