So afterbs surreal experience this morning i was wondering what's the weirdest reason fabs have give for either:

Thw weirdest reason I had for someone not meeting was because, I live in too posh a neighbourhood... it is a beautiful garden flat apartment, but I wasn't suggesting we slept with neighbours... weird so blocked him!

If i started with mine people would think i just wanted a reason to tell people (like an ego trip or something)... So instead i thought this would be a better way to get people to reply. Also i think this could be amusing as hell

I've heard loads , but mostly once they have already said yes they could meet , instead of being honest they tell you anything .

Sick relations rushed into hospital , I've no money for fuel , car won't start , forgot I told my mum I'd do something for her ,

I got lost so I drove home , was knocking doors and no one was at home , ( wrong address)

Phone died , sister came in , baby sitter let me down , brother was in serious accident .

Be straight with your answers and you will find people will respect you a lot more .

Have heard all these and more; but I keep guys' numbers and entire mobile message threads (cos these guys tend to re-appear months down the line) and will run them ragged next time they contact me and will often have them drive miles for nothing; it's called giving someone a taste of their own medicine; maybe (big ask) this will help them lie less and be a little more trustworthy.

I wouldn't let a guy travel 150 miles and get a hotel to meet me as I feel that once he met me he'd realise that I wasn't worth all that effort. I can't explain why I feel like that with this particular guy and I'm not like that with everyone..sometimes there doesn't appear to be a rational explanation and when you give the reason it may not necessarily make sense. Just sometimes it doesn't feel right....I'm not making sense now am I??

One guy stood me up on a social and left me sat having lunch on my own in a really nice coffee shop (thought I might as well stop for a bite to eat if he wasn't going to show) and his excuse was that he had watched me through the window and decided that I looked 'out of his league' and was too intimidating to approach

I wish someone would direct me to this flipping league table so I can arrange fixtures accordingly.

I turned down a meet in the first few weeks of joining, The reason I give was I had never been with a couple and wanted to try a few clubs first to see if group sex was my thing, As it turned out they had arranged to meet more then one Man and after looking at the pictures they put up 3 Men all bareback, I'm glad I turned her down

I arranged a social amd was to meet half way. Waited 45 mins. And then got a message to say im on my way i will be 30 mins. Told him to go back home as I had left. He decided to snooze his alarm as he was up late and overslept. That was his second chance he never got a third.

The psychology of swinging and of sexual arousal versus possible inhibitions is very interesting.....in my opinion we are more likely to seek sexual experiences with a person that we view as being an 'equal' to us in terms of attractiveness. This is a power/control/ego thing maybe?

I read an article once that put forward a theory that we choose partners based on how attractive we feel ourselves. That we have some in-built thing that says, he or she is too attractive to want to be with the likes of me. It also works the other way round, they are not attractive enough for what I deserve. Which would explain some couplings/pairings....

I am not saying I agree with the article, I personally think it is down to confidence, she may have felt that she wouldn't match up to your expectations and faced rejection, which none of us like.

Great thread and replies. Confidence and early life experiences as well and posible rejection shape much of our behaviour. Although there are likely many more reasons some legitimate others not. As the saying goes knowt are queen as folk.

I think you are doing yourself a disservice.

If someone has taken time to get in touch (excluding the classic fancy a fuck line). Then explore it as you may get something unexpected out of it. The worst that could happen is that you dont get to meet... Which is same as rejecting someone at start...

The best thing is that you get to have someone who you think is hot... Always a winner lol

I've had couples and men asking to meet me,I asked if they knew what ample meant,they said yes. Asked if they had looked at my pics,they said yes don't mind big women. When I said I'm a size 20 one said good luck with that,one couple said too big then contacted me a few weeks later saying they had changed their minds. Others just said sorry too fat for me.

The one that gets me is when you agree the meet, tell them you are travelling to them now. You get there and they do not respond to messages.

Excuse - I fell asleep.

Twice I've had that now! Different people too.

This was our weirdest one... Met a single guy for a social and it all went well; arranged a play meet a week later, L messaged him on the day with our address and a jokey message saying that we prefer Spanish red wine. Didn't show... Didn't respond to messages either. When we eventually got hold of him he said that he didn't like being told what to do, and thought that it was rude of us to ask him to bring a bottle :-/

That's not unusual. There are many women on here who believe that someone they consider very attractive has mistakenly contacted them, or are 'making do' until someone better looking comes along.

I have done that...

And me, I've turned guys down as I think they would be disappointed if we met

So you disappoint them... to prevent disappointing them...and perhaps give them a complex about rejection and insecurity issues, that weren't there before... hmmm Fancy a Meet??

God iv been stood up loads lol normally because of work but one did say he found some one better lol
