I'll eventually be looking for a relationship but NSA fun for now is what it's about. I've not used POF (yet) but heard that a lot of people on there use it just for sex. Something like OKcupid is a bit more for 'dating' (though apparently lately a lot of weirdo guys have started harassing women on it).

I think if you're on either though you should be upfront about what you're after !

On pof it's hard to talk to women. Maybe because it's more of a dating thing. General questions about job, money, interests. It doesn't really go anywhere. Here I'm more open. Say things that I normally wouldn't. Have more confidence here.

I have been on a few sites and made it clear I was looking for dates to hopefully turn into a relationship. When I was seeing someone I hid my profile. The dating sites are for me as person I am. Fab is for me as Fruit which is the other side of me.

A guy I recently spent a few months chatting with off a dating site recently joined fab and recognised my boobs lol. After reading my verfications he decided I was Fruit and not the person he had spent 2 months getting to know. I had avoided sex talk with him and we chatted about vanilla stuff. I told him if we began in a relationship he would get to know everything about me.

I'm tempted to join up to one of the dating sites.

I would love to have a girlfriend again someone who you can trust and be compelled honest with with all the love and support that goes with that.

But given how badly my last relationships ended with cheating etc and what I've seen on here about the amount of partners who cheat (I won't meet with people cheating) I just get the feeling it would go the same way again and I don't really cope with breakups too well.

Here at least I get sex, intimacy and friendship but without any of the emotional risk.

I think you still have an element of emotional risk on here; look at posts that ask for advice when one party feels different to another.

Ultimately to offer part of yourself up to someone else I think can lead to complications and 'risk'- but I think that comes with the territory. I guess perhaps you have to trust that the right people for you, in both a fab or dating situation won't take advantage of the privilege you give them. If people do choose to, it understandably does affect the choice we make but I dont believe in giving that person that much control- you can't control them but you do have

a say in how much you let their behaviour dictate your

response,and how much that experience gets to define you.

As an aside Bugs and I met on a well known dating site. The site was known for both love and 'nsa'fun. My previous(very abusive) relationship started in a very 'normal' way and had I let my experience in there be my sum total of relationship experience and not taken the step into a daring world and with all the risk that comes with it I'd never have Found and experienced the joy that can come from an amazing one.

I have used POF in the past and to be honest, got more sex from there than here. I am no longer a member but do search from time to time to see if any of the faces have changed - they haven't, same people there from years ago, which probably says a lot about the site.

I have never been abusive to anyone on here, I send one message, never a second one without a response, I am expressing my opinion without being personal and trust me I could elaborate more. Yes, there are gorgeous ladies on here, but if I was to look I guess there are a considerable amount of desirable men.

It is subjective as you say, do we look for something different in a person that we seek a relationship with as opposed to just sex with them. A lot of guys wouldn't necessarily need to fancy a woman to have sex with them, far more than those who would admit it, where as I think women need that attraction.

Spoke to a lot of guys that are on both sites.

Pof is like Facebook to me, had guys I know messaging me, alright ***** saw you in texaco earlier, or ask your cousin if he can spray my car/fix something blah blah blah. I just deleted my profile in the end!

They had a big cull on POF a couple of years ago, the site owner came over all moral and kicked a load of members off who were in relationships with little or no warning.

But you will find 80% of men on pof are on here. When I was single and on there looking for relationship no one interested. Soon as they seen I had a single profile here the world wanted to talk to me. Took great pleasure in telling them where too go lol xx

Guilty of this exactly.

Find girls and women are surprisingly more open about sexual encounters than on fab sometimes. Seems fab is becoming an agony column and meets are hard to come by especially after the messages to and from.
