"Oh my, if ever it could be more important to get punctuation correct on a thread title, lol. We're = we are I'm pretty sure OP, that you meant 'Were Bungle & Geoffrey from Rainbow Gay?' As for your question, i'm not so sure they were gay, but there was a heck of a lot of innuendo going on in that show. I'm guessing they all had one heck of a giggle making it."

"To sort a couple of facts out - firstly: Bungle was a guy. A very well known session musician and vocalist. Currently lives in the Canaries and the guy is the other side of 6'6" Secondly - the "famous" episode that everyone assumes was aired - the one full of innuendos was in internal xmas special. When it really was ITV - the different dept's used to have a semi-sanctioned competition every year to see who could produce the funniest/naughtiest/etc version of their show. "That one" won " if he was 6'6" he must have been kneeling down because he certainly wasn't towering over Geoffrey

"I guess they were just like Ernie and Bert in Sesame Street [total godlike geniuses!] or even Eric and Ernie in those wonderful bedroom scenes... Quite unusual for mainstream tv when you think about it, but nobody seemed to question the Eric and Ernie scenes in the [more] homophobic 70s" I reckon that's down to the simple, child-like, brother-from-another-mother daftness they exuded? The seventies were weird re TV shows/films - very contradictory era
