I personally haven't caught anything. I will not use condoms for oral either.

I will continue to get tested regular so I'd know quickly and could get treated and notify anyone I could. Although as its often random club meets it would make it a little hard to tell all.

We both know people that have caught things though in the past...

So you are asking a personal question of everybody else, but when asked one of you, you are not prepared to answer? My question was really to highlight how honest an answer you thought people would actually give, given it could well affect their chances of future meets.

Seen as you don't want to give up any personal information, I may as well asked for your bank account numbers? Or is your sexual history yours and yours alone.

I have no issue with the thread. What I have an issue with is the OP wants everyone to answer a very personal question that they themselves aren't willing to answer.

Do you think that's fair or just an example of double standards?

Also, how do I know if I'm going to like a thread or not if I don't look at it?

I think I have only seen one person on here be honest and say he has HIV, it's on his profile.

Can't imagine you'll get many people wanting to say they have had STDs even if they were years ago and treated promptly! Especially if you wont say yourself

I was really lucky,I met one of my regular partners when he had a terrible cold and I didn't get it. I've never caught anything else from a man either,call it lucky if you want.

Because of the internet STIs aren't contained like they used to be, people travel miles for sex now and don't really stay local for it, but rates went down in 2013 from 2012 but are still higher than in 2011. Whenever i see claims made in the news i do google for sources that would back them up, the article should have links (don't read the sun so don't know if it has them or not). I also can't find 2014s data.

If you look at the stats for 2010-2011 there aren't that many people infected with stuff anyway, although the figure is presumed to be higher because some people won't know they've got anything apparently.

::How many STIs are diagnosed?

In England alone between 2010 and 2011 there were 426,827 new infections in a 12-month period which included:

Chlamydia: 186,196. Most of these were people aged 24 or younger

Genital herpes: 31,154

Genital warts: 76,071

Gonorrhoea: 20,965. The highest rates of gonorrhoea are seen in women aged 16-19 and men aged 20-24

HIV: 6,280

Infectious syphilis: 2,915

More people are being tested too.

Attendance at sexual health clinics has also increased since the previous survey, rising from 6.7% to 21% in women, and from 7.7% to 20% in men. I've passed on thrush to an ex partner once, but not caught anything.

It IS an interesting subject, I don't have an issue with that. Like I said previously I have issue with you asking the question and then refusing to answer it yourself.

Ultimately people can write whatever answer they please, it doesn't make it true though.

I'll be honest and say I once caught crabs from a girl at Butlins in 1996 but since then I've not contracted anything.

Its a good thread OP... I've always been passed as clear in any tests I've had. Always play safe but always glad to get that green light. Law of averages might say that the more (safer) sex you have the more likely you are to be unlucky?

In this country the prevalence of STIs is extremely low...

It's gathered a little pace, with the influx of dare I say it.... foreigners...........

But having been a foreigner in many different nations and never caught even a cold, I think it all comes down to your choices and a tiny amount of luck.

I did not even realise there were statistics for STi's in the swinging community.

no one has ever randomly sampled us going in or out of a club.

Without knowing the size of the community how do we know whether there is an increase in infections or not???

the increase in testing and increase in numbers of swingers, could explain the numbers and it could also mean as a percentage, that Sti's in the swinging community are falling.

Without the stats it's a meaningless headline.

Never caught anything so far. But we don't do a lot of full swap or any bareback penetration, so we have low odds.

I think our fullswap experiences are below the national average for the number of sexual partners most people have in a lifetime.

I got a dose back when I was a teenager, it was pre AIDS days and I was young and daft...since I've been "proper" swinging (as opposed to just being an owd slapper) I've been careful with regards to safer sex and with regular tests I managed to stay clap free so far...I don't take this for granted though and know I'm assertive enough to insist on condoms for penetration and self aware enough to realise I was lucky all those years of catting around not to catch anything

when I was a teenager I had trichomoniasis which they gave me tablets for and some external warts, funny thing is I had no noticeable symtoms and I only went to get tested because my probation officer took me.

well it is partly because if you get something that can be treated you are lucky compared to someone who gets hiv.

freddy mercury died from hiv but Elton john and George Michael didn't.

I used to be very irresponsible when I was 17 and fearless, but thus far I've had cystitis from a very hard pounding, in the middle of my a levels, that was horrible, and after an orgy in Brighton and some aggressive deep throating I, and a couple of others, caught a cold, with horrible sore throat and achy head, on my 21st and all! got that checked out immediately and it was a bacterial thing, not an std/sti.

I go now every 3 months or so, even though I don't sleep with that many people, its good to be tested and safe.

Because of the internet STIs aren't contained like they used to be, people travel miles for sex now and don't really stay local for it, but rates went down in 2013 from 2012 but are still higher than in 2011. Whenever i see claims made in the news i do google for sources that would back them up, the article should have links (don't read the sun so don't know if it has them or not). I also can't find 2014s data.

If you look at the stats for 2010-2011 there aren't that many people infected with stuff anyway, although the figure is presumed to be higher because some people won't know they've got anything apparently.

In England alone between 2010 and 2011 there were 426,827 new infections in a 12-month period which included:

Chlamydia: 186,196. Most of these were people aged 24 or younger

Genital herpes: 31,154

Genital warts: 76,071

Gonorrhoea: 20,965. The highest rates of gonorrhoea are seen in women aged 16-19 and men aged 20-24

HIV: 6,280

Infectious syphilis: 2,915

Well after googling i found out it isn't an STI but you can be infected with it after having sex with someone who has it. That makes 0 sense, how can being sexually infected with something make it not be a sexual infection?

I know the body makes it naturally and it can get out of control but you can also pick it up via sex and become infected with it too. So sometimes it is an STI surely?

Yes it makes sense I didnt play with my OH whilst having it for risk of transmitting it sexually. Most dont realise you can get it orally too.

Felt sorry for him hed been away for 6 weeks and came home ready for fun and hes couldnt have it. I was equally frustrated as the hormones meant i.wanted it just as much if not more, but it wasnt worth giving him it too

I actually didn't know i had thrush until my ex got symptoms. I never get a discharge with mine, just itchy, and i figured all the sex had just gotten to my bits and made them a bit sweaty and then itchy maybe lol, then he got a bit sore, red, and cracked and needed treating and it was advised i got treated too and my itchy went away.

Shame you both went without sex, i don't think the symptoms are too bad for women really until it becomes persistent (which it did for me when my diabetes was too high for 3 years, the last year i was itchy before my period for a week and it was unbearable), for guys it does seem to affect them more and be painful though so yeah i agree with your decision, probably not best to pass it on if you can help it.

If you ever have another flare up try using natural yoghurt its so good for relieving the itch better than anything you can buy over the counter and the enzymes in the yoghurt help to neutralise and treat the infection. I laughed it off when first told that but tried it out of desperation and it bloody worked.

Does anyone know what other diseases are being included as the figures above only add up to about 323,000. I'm not trying to be a geek but it does suggest that over 100,000 folk are infected with something else or that the government can't add up..lol

Yes I have. ..off my long term partner of two years.....

He was on here when I met him..still is... and passed something to me

It was treated

And im now careful....I say careful loosely as we all claim to be careful but perform oral unprotected

I get tested every 3 mths now ...im not as careless as I was in vanilla world where it seems to be the norm between my mates to bareback everyone ... I have made mistakes and git carried away I won't lie... but..test immediately after through worrying

Currently all clear
