Chancers?

I am a guy, who, I think is in the minority, in as much as I read profiles and take notice of what is written within them.

If an ad says, not more than an hour away and I am, I don't respond. If it says no-one over 40 (sadly I am),I don't respond.If it says DEFINATELY, ABSOLUTLEY, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, NO SINGLE MEN, WE KNOW WHERE TO FIND YOU IF WE WANT ONE, and I am I don't respond.

Obviously people have a preference which is why its stated on their profiles - Simple?

I just wondered how many people get approached by chancers...I know its two hours away but I am prepared to travel....or Yeah I am 42 but a couple of years is fine surely!

Are people flexible in their requirements or is there a line and that's it! Are chancers ever successful?

I get a feeling chancers could be one of the million plus reasons guys get such bad press on here!

Plenty of people will move their age (or any other) criteria somewhat for the right person, so who's to blame?

I have the words ..... am NOT looking to meet anyone who doesn't match up to my preferences and I won't be swayed on this sorry......and its still doesn't stop your so called chancers!

come on age is a number i am 40s going on 27 ,, lol Right First thing get a face pic or somthing maybe one or two body pics ...... Myself i go for a face first everytime. If i get a letter from a person that make me smile and thay take the time i will mail back .ONE LINERS AND mail that you know thay send to 100s dont work... But some stand out from others here for me.I am looking to make friends not just looking for meat I like to get to know the person so thay can come into our lifes now and again and we get to trust them ..... X JO

I have to agree with the OP that chancers are one of the reasons single guys get such bad name on this site, but it's not the only reason.

We don't meet single guys and that is stated in our profile but we still got loads of mail from them so we blocked them.

As we are now organising the Cardiff social we have unblocked them so that any single guys who want info on the social can mail us yet we still get masses of mail from chancers!

we moved the line about single males to the top of our profile so that those that can't be bothered reading the whole profile (it is a bit long!) know immediately that we are not interested yet still we get the mail!

the chat room is another place some single guys give the rest of you a bad name, although we don't meet guys i am more than happy to chat but some seem to have a total lack of respect and get annoyed when i say i dont meet guys because i was friendly and spoke to them! when i chat to somebody i always check out their profile but because some of these guys cant be bothered to do the same i get abuse for being nice!

That said we have met some great single guys at socials and parties, its just a pity the minority give the rest of you a bad name!!

Havent done a statistical analysis but Id guess about 80% of the messages I get are 'chancers' according to your definition.

Ok Ill be generous and make that 75%.

But there are worse offences on here I guess. 'Wanna fuck?' messages are 'Wanna fuck' messages, whether folks have read your profile or not...

we get quite a few over our specified age limit and unfortunatly some pretty harsh ones too!! We choose not to meet guys over 40, we get a lot of people calling us hypacrits because MrH is over 40.. It is our choice and as MrsH says she has one guy over 40 so likes a change...

We do get a lot of chancers though especially from miles away!!

Chanchers account for a good % of our mails, many say such as "lol i no im outside your age but i waonted 2 try".

I have it in my profile the age range I go for but still get people mailing me over 50s. So I mail them back saying sorry but dont meet older than late 40s as am late 30s myself.

My general one I get it locals or not. I have it on profile that I meet locals. I get people from wales say(I am on the Norfolk coast so as far from wales as you can east) and they say when I point out they are very much not local that they then say but I can travel. If I wanted to meet men that can travel then would say so.

Also get younger men wanting to meet me. Say younger than 30. I prefer to meet those over 30 and preferabl well over 30,more my own age. But still get mail saying do you meet younger men. I reply with do you read profiles!

funny you guys say all that but I get couples who have no single men on their profiles contacting me.Now should I be offended as it seems like they feel like they are doing a me a favour by meeting me, or are they chancers also?

Our ages on our profile are 100% correct as is everything else about it.

If someone else's profile says age criteria 18-50 we don't contact them.

If it says 30-60 we don't contact them.

(we are aged 28 and 55)

Anything else that eliminates us (smoking, distance etc)

We don't contact them.

If thier profile eliminates us but they contact us we will NOT meet them.

Won't meet smokers - we won't meet them

age criteria 18-50 or say 30-60 we will not meet them.

To us honesty in swinging is a paramount requisite and honesty begins with your profile.

At least they read the profile.

Most chancers send messages like "hey how r u 2day - fancy a chat".... and they have no idea whether they match the preferences of the people they send it to or not.

I have noticed most "fancy a chat" messages come from people on the other side of the country, who won't meet smokers, are too short, are outside of my age preferences and me likely outside of theirs (aside from the 18-99 possie)and they are usually looking for "hot women" only.

I think any succesful meet is based on the quality of the post and the attitude/mood of the recipient.

Some people have a little leverage for those that write a message that is so well thought through and the chances of success are so great it would be ridiculous to not at least test the waters.

others are very fixed, though they often have it written on their profile...not always though.

the worse someone can do is block you, that's no hardship...they may come to the forum to gripe at the insolence, even so, they can't name you.

When it comes to age my preferences are a 'guide' only.....but only by a few years either side, when it comes to body type, sorry I will not be swayed...as I know what I am and not attracted to, but most of all, sense of humour and an original message normally get a response from me
