Personal life?

Fab life?

Take time out, have some space.

Hope you feel better soon.

Take a look at someone else who's less fortunate than you for a little perspective

no matter

That isnt and easy one I suppose it depends what has made you feel down. Sometimes you could think there are so many worse off and feel you should really be greatful for what you have.. sometimes you feel so low there seems to be no way out.

Best thing perhaps is talk it through with someone friend or internet and see if you can get things into perspective.

If the downess is depression related get to the doc and sort out a medicine review. It can take a few weeks to regulate your feelings ,so dont leave too long. x hugs

Go to your GP, your serotonin may need a boost, never just dwell on it and don't assume its just the weather or whatever. Your GP can do diagnostic tests with you to see if you are clinically depressed and would benefit from medication and/or counselling.

Really? And I thought SSRIs were the answer! Right everyone.....all of you on Citalopram, Certraline or similar drugs, stop those drugs this instant and dig in those heels!

Thankyou,I've felt like this for a good few years now,I do have a lot to be grateful for,I have my health,if not sanity,no mortgage, family. I did go to the doctors after my marriage ended, but like she said you have to go through the grieving process. One minute I had a family, nice home,2 adopted girls, then he decided to take that away from us. I now for one reason or another am left with nothing. My girls are with him and his girlfriend and their new baby. I'm so up and down I just want to find some kind of contentment and peace. I just don't have a reason to get up. Think I'm just having a bad day,I'm 47 years of age I should be sorted with life. Apologies...

Personal life, although I'm not meeting anyone from here at the moment, the last thing I need is just to meet for sex,I don't need my physical needs being met,it's more my emotional needs.

If only it was that simple .

Of course there are instances that these drugs can help , but are they the answer to all emotional problems ?

The over use of these drugs create many problems too .

Hugs help, so sending you a few.

But know exactly where you are coming from. Been through similar myself, and felt down for ages, and still do sometimes when I look at what I had in the past. My kids are older and I do see them from time to time, but it just seems like someone else is thier father now. I try and be positive and think of others less fortunate, which isn't easy all the time, as we tend to focus on our own lives when we are down.

Try and get out, do things that you enjoy, remember that we can't change the past. The future is what we make it. Being positive when you are down is hard, but even going out for a coffee and getting away from familiar surroundings, like home etc does help. Look on line for meeting groups etc, obviously outside of fab. I could go on and on, but just wish you the best and hope that things improve and you feel more upbeat soon.

Bruce.

Those drugs have unpleasant side effects too,While they may help in the short term the problems that caused the need for them may still not have been dealt with due to them being so easily prescribed

This is probably because you don't really know what you want . There will be a bitterness toward your ex , and you will be hurting seeing your daughters go with him . The fact that he now has a child of his own with his new partner will twist the knife further , and you can't help but feel sorry for yourself .

You may be better to look for something meaningful in your life , be it a relationship , close friends or even a pet .

You need people around you who will let you see your worth , your value and you will begin to see yourself in a better light again .

Maybe you could get involved in something worthwhile on a voluntary basis . In giving yourself to something like this you will be able to focus in the positives you have to offer ?

I really hope you can pick yourself up soon and look forward with a sense of optimism which is clearly not there at the moment .

Again, I'm mystified, what problems do they create? Chemical imbalances in the brain, however caused whether by intrinsic or extrinsic factors can be rectified with the right medication,. Feelings of not coping with day to day life often mean the serotonin is depleted in the brain and SSRIs will correct that. They aren't going to cure dodgy relationships or bereavement but they may make life easier to deal with in the face of those things that naturally deplete serotonin levels. Talk to your GP, he won't just throw drugs at you if you don't need them, he can diagnose depression with several tools and has access to many solutions, not all are medication.

"you pick yourself up,when all seems pointless?!"

In this town there is a self referral service that links to a programme designed to help cope with anxiety and stress, you may have something similar in your area, your GP should have the info or even a nurse practioner if you can't see the GP

Good luck x
