Be honest ....If you've sent a message to someone does it bother you if a reply comes maybe days later or by that time have you forgotten you even sent the message?

I'm being good and trying to reply to everyone but I have messages that are a good few days old

Personally not in the slightest.... Most people understand that there is a life away from fab. Just getting a reply, even if it is a knock back means more than silence.

Any reply is a bonus. Seeing an inbox alert always brings a buzz. And when it's not from some guy it's even better

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

I imagine that it would be tempting to deliberately not reply to first time messages for 48 hours, to see if an impatient followup also arrives.

I don't normally send preemptive messages, but I received a wink off a right fit hottie last week. I sent a message introducing myself and asked if she fancied a chat etc, the message remains unread. She is a stunner so probably receives 100's a day.

Doesn't really bother me but am thinking about sending another one though

I'd be wondering whether or not to bother replying with the same gusto, if it takes that amount of time to get a reply. When I first see a profile I like it takes me a good 10-15+ mins to write a message to that profile... if you reply in a few days - I'd think I hadn't hit the mark, so I would probably reply to you though, it'd be a forced reply trying to catch your attention better - putting you off.

Well I never send a copy and paste message, I put alot of thought into mine, If I notice it has been read and deleted, she is not interested, which is ok, a no thanks would have been better but no problem.

however, if it's been read, not deleted I activate a mental timer, no reply within 36hrs, I block as I was obviously not that interesting to them to even send a quick message saying that life is hectic, or even a wink. I understand people have busy life's etc, but I don't go blanket messaging, I message one person at a time and wait for a reply!

just how I do things.

Maybe we need a button to block incoming messages from individuals, rather than block the whole profile. Some people don't like sending a rejection message because they get a barrage back. A message block would let them send a friendly rejection so everyone is happy

I don't have a problem with delayed replies at all.

I find it does help if they use the last message I sent to reply back to me with though, as I've probably deleted the original and It reminds me of the conversation.

I always reply to winks and messages but not always straight away when I'm on the mobile as I prefer to sit and use a keyboard.

All this reminds me, I have a couple of replies to do.

I have to admit I probably need the odd nudge now and then as non fab things do keep me busy.

Doesn't bother me when or if someone replies back. If they reply back, then all good. If they don't, then i guess i don't tick their boxes.

You are a fun and engaging lady and I'm sure are well respected for your time and effort in replying to all messages on here as well as your positive posts on the forum.

In my opinion there are lots of genuine people on Fab who are all very friendly and polite and will help other Fabbers out on all topics - sex to shopping quandaries lol

The second most irritating thing is when your message shows as read but not deleted then a couple of days later it is then deleted. Those in between days you had your hopes up. This pales in comparison to my number one pet hate which is the old message tennis before they dissappear trick. That's when you really think where they just messing with my head.

"Ok 12 hours later,I've been on and off all day

I had over 250 messages and I've still got about 60 left,I got waylaid by a few gorgeous people, but every single man has been wonderful, every response back from a rejection has been gracious, and almost everyone has said thank you for replying

Men ......hats off to you xxx

You are a fun and engaging lady and I'm sure are well respected for your time and effort in replying to all messages on here as well as your positive posts on the forum.

In my opinion there are lots of genuine people on Fab who are all very friendly and polite and will help other Fabbers out on all topics - sex to shopping quandaries lol

The Fab forumites/forumees are top notch in my book and won't let the odd bad egg ruin the site for others.

Happy Fabbing All

there's something Brown on your nose "

I guess that makes me a bad egg?

No, it doesn't bother me as I completely understand that those whom I message are likely inundated and that we all have lives away from fab.

I never reply to messages unless I read and reply straight away, I open an unread one earlier that was 3 days old, he was rather nice but I just thought ....I can't reply 3 days later

Doesn't bother me how long it takes someone to reply, and never bothers me if I don't get a reply.

No pressure no hassles from my end so if someone isn't interested it isn't a problem and if everyday life means a quick reply ends up taking a few days to arrive then so be it.

I think most genuine guys can appreciate how much mail females/cpls recieve so patience and a laid back approach makes life on fab much more fun, which it's meant to be anyway

If I've been having a conversation with someone and dont log on for a few days when I log back on if there is a message from them in my inbox that's the tail end of the conversation we had when I was last on I don't reply, I just can't see the point in carrying on a few days later the conversation has ended

I think that's why I speak to so few people on here I tend to have some really good conversations with guys but once I log off the conversations over and never re mail them the next time I'm on

If we don't arrange a meet the first day of speaking it tends to not happen

"Be honest ....If you've sent a message to someone does it bother you if a reply comes maybe days later or by that time have you forgotten you even sent the message?

I'm being good and trying to reply to everyone but I have messages that are a good few days old "

I understand that couples and especially single females have "message overload"each time they log on.

Messages I have sent are probably lost in there somewhere.

The fact that I do get a reply, whether it takes minutes, days or even a week, tells me they have manners.

A thanks but no thanks costs nothing apart from effort.

Why? When visible my profile clearly states what I'm looking for and I'll not reply to anyone outside of that.

If someone wants to try their luck, it's their time to waste, I'm certainly not wasting mine!

My sent messages are usually replies to friend or messages from new people. I'm not good at waiting for replies but I'm learning as people have a life and one man's replies are worth waiting for

yes it does bug me not the initial message when your first trying to speak to a woman but once contact has been established and it would appear you like eachother yes ,besides anything else you've forgotten what you were talking about when the answer comes back ,I was chatting to a woman I chat to regularly and she asked me a question I answered her straight away and without saying she went into a chatroom havnt heard from her for days

I appreciate that couples and single women in particular must get inundated with messages everyday and replying to all will take forever and an age .

I do however feel a little

when I know i've taken time to select a member and write to them.

For me; a simple no or not interested as a reply goes a long way

To be honest to get a reply is a miracle. Have quite a few sent messages still unread. Will get a buzz if I receive any replies. I understand though that you ladies have busy lives and receive lots of messages. What does fustrate me is seeing my message unread and a new status update asking for a meet.

I've learned to expect ignored/deleted messages as the norm. It can be irritating but just have to assume I'm not what they want.

So far, I've only had 1 reply, from all my messages. "hi thank you for the message, we are just off to work now but will answer in full later xxx "... Two weeks later, inbox is still empty. C'est la vie.

btw - had to laugh at reference to 'page 2' - sheesh... didnt know inbox had pages - haha

This is what I like. Even if someone rejects another and give a polite response on it, its really nice common courtesy to appreciate it.

Be respectful of each other and it all ends up being good for everyone. : )

It's always nice to get a reply, even if it's a No Thanks. Sure I know women get far more than men do and can't reply to all.

How about a "thanks but no thanks" button against the message in the mailbox, just press, message autofilled and sent, and it deletes the message too, so everybody is happy, sender gets a polite message, recipient gets to say no, politely, with no more clicks than them just pressing the delete button
