Is booking a hotel like paying for sex?

Jump to newest

If you wanted a meet, neither of you could accommodate that time for whatever reason. One of you booked a hotel room or you go halves (going halves feels fairest to me) - would you consider that like paying to have sex?

My view is no, as you're paying to have somewhere to enjoy a meet together and have mutual fun. I know some seem to have a different concept to me. So I'm interested in other's views.

Now this is difficult, if you both agree to say half and agree beforehand what's happening then no it's not,

There are people on here who expect any meet to book and pay for the hotel, now that is paying for sex in my opinion

not at all - if that was the case so would going to a club be and it isnt - and in either case it isnt a guaranteed outcome that sex will occur

I've paid, been paid for and gone halves in the past and none of those occasions have ever felt paying or being paid for sex.

But I only meet people I like, so I kind of think of it as the same thing as if I go for tea with a friend and I pay, I'm not paying for their time, the money isn't an important part of the equation so we just do whatever is easiest.

If costs are shared then I agree entirely.

I see a few adds which say that they expect the other party to cover any hotel costs ect. That is along the same lines as prostituting oneself out though I feel.

But hey what's wrong with being paid for it if that's what you wanna do..?

I think it's about the demands made - the profiles that say they won't meet unless they get x - that feels a bit iffy to me. But if someone offers to book and pay for a hotel, because they want to, (not because I've told them in shouty capitals that I won't meet them otherwise) well that's a different thing.

No I don't think it is like paying for sex - to me it's paying for a place which makes it possible for two consenting people to enjoy a good time with each other, when no other place is available.

On the other hand, If you invited me to your house and when I got to the door you asked me for 50 quid before I came over your step - then I would consider it paying for sex.

I don't think that getting a room so that you can meet someone is paying for sex

Its for each parties convenience or you wouldn't be able to meet

Having recently enjoyed a cpl of nights in hotels with female playmates I certainly don't see it as paying for sex.

As long as both parties feel things are fair then who pays for what really doesn't really matter.

I had a couple book and pay for the hotel and not turn up (she backed out then unlos)

Had work pay for the hotel, now THAT was a meet

Sex is never guaranteed so you are not paying for anything other than the room.

Moral of my story is get work to foot the bill

Buying someone a drink on a social meet is just manners, seeing it as paying for sex seems a very immature attitude to me

I have paid for rooms, paid the fees into clubs and bough drinks in the past I don't feel I have paid for sex, it just how it goes at times, if I'm meeting a guy and he can't afford to go half's on a room I will pay, my choice

If it is a one on one meet or a mmf/mff or two couples then I can understand that it is for their mutual convenience.

The only time I'd see it as paying for sex is if it was a couple seeking multiple men and asking for contributions at a rate that far exceeds the actual cost of the room once you add up the dozen or so guys that go through.

Completely agree it's all about attitude. The attitude that "if we are going to meet you have to pay" translates to "if you want us to enjoy sex together, then you must pay a premium".

In that respect it is similar to paying for sex. I don't think that theoretically, paying for sex is such a problem though anyway.

Typically, no. It's similar in principal to just buying a drink or going out for a meal on a date or something. It's a bit different however, if a profile demands a hotel meet, or insists as a rule, that the other party pays. That would make me feel like I was kind of paying for sex, so I'd avoid those people.
