Do people assume that a couple are not Happily married if there on a swinging site?

There does seem a trend for couples to state this on their profiles

There are lots of people on here that make the assumption that there must be something wrong with a relationship if you're on here as a couple, which I find bizarre seeing as it's a swinging site

Yeh I was of the same mindset, that to venture into the swinging world as a couple you must have a solid relationship, so baffles me why it's constantly stated, it's like they think people assume there on the rocks or something because there on here

I think mainly it's targeted at the individuals who do assume you must have an awful sex life and they must rush to save you from the boredom.

We do get messages offering to sort me out because clearly Mr2 can't do the job, although you are perfectly right in suggesting its pointless as I don't think the people who do message us have even read our profile.

I always think stating your a happily married and in love couple on your profile is a little odd

Makes me think....who are you trying to convince here

I know there are loads of happily married couples on here but oddly they are the ones who don't feel the need to state ot on their profile

From our experience there are plenty of couples in stale or unhappy marriages who use this as a way to try and reignite their marriage .

That's one if the reasons we stopped going to clubs and can't really be that bothered in meeting couples .

Not sure that it indicates that they aren't happy just as the phrase "as an extra to our already good/fantastic/superlative of choice sex life" means anything

I suppose its a nice way of expressing they are actually a couple as opposed to just being fuck buddies playing together

Happily married, very secure, great sex life at home, etc etc. They're all pretty meaningless words and just clog up a profile, but I think some use them as defence. Sooner or later most figure out that there's nothing to defend against.

The couples we have met on here have been more relaxed and more stable than our vanilla friends. If they are both comfortably involved then they are far more likely to have a good marriage.

We have been married 42 years been swinging 35 swinging as made our marriage very strong we have no secrete,s never go behind each other like most of our friends have done and happier than any of them none of then no this side of our life they would not believe it.If you stat swinging it,s because there is something wrong that,s why you do it. Swinging can make or brake your marriage

I have a happy marriage & an amazing wife. It would be an amazing marriage if she joined me on here. Still hoping, hinting but not pushing.

Yes, she knows I'm here, which is one of the reasons we have a happy marriage & that she is amazing.

I assume they are very happily married, secure and confident in their relationship and totally up for inviting another man to join them for a few hours.

I've put happily married because I have had several single guys message and chat and then try and meet behind my husband's back. Or say things like "if you were mine I wouldn't let you do this" and all that rubbish.

I put it so guys realise me playing alone doesn't mean it's a free pass to try and drive a wedge between us.

Not that they would, but it's annoying for us to read!

Since I put happily married it's not seemed to happen. So it works for me.

I avoid couples that say they are 'happily married' etc, because it seems like they would be super protective of 'the couple', rather than just comfortable with seeing how things go.

"...From our experience there are plenty of couples in stale or unhappy marriages who use this as a way to try and reignite their marriage ...."

Finding this an interesting thread - we did have on ours that we were happily married and madly in love (yeah yeah, feel free to vomit LOL). I guess we had it there because we had a meet with a couple that seemed fine in messaging but at the meet it was apparent they were NOT happy and she felt like she was being forced to do this, etc. So putting in that we were happily married and seeking the same was our way of trying to avoid that VERY awkward situation again. They've since left the site and are hopefully getting their shit together.

I think that for the majority that this is very true but I have wondered that with some couples, whether its a last ditch effort to rekindle a dying marriage - this thought is occasionally upheld when one or both (people from a couple) open singles profiles that start "no longer married...")

I actually assume that most cpls on here are happily married, as they must have discussed joining and letting some one else into their sex lives, which to me means they are a strong happy cpl. I do accept some are not happy and are actually trying to fix something but my starting point is that they are happily married. J

Yeah OP it wasn't much fun at all - and then they were very keen (or at least HE was) and pushing for a second meet - but we weren't going anywhere near that situation.

We've since learned to look for equal banter from both partners - for us good flirty banter from both seems to indicate equal interest from both. So far so good.

When I see "happily married" in a profile I see it as a "no drama here" beacon - so rather than a "we're so tight you can't penetrate our coupledom" it's a "we're secure so come on in."

That's a good way of looking at it. We've experienced social meets with couples where one or the other of them was just there to keep the other one happy and its very sad. People often comment on the obvious stability of our relationship and the fact that we're clearly in this together and that surprised us at first.......we thought everyone's set up would be the same to have arrived at this point but time and experience showed us that wasn't true.

Very happily married but we both need sex with other people now and again. Much better than having deceitful affairs and one-night-stands. Swinging works for us anyway.

For me it differentiates between the fbs that form couples profiles. I've nothing against either but seeing 'happily married couple' in the profile sets out the scene instantly for me
