does anyone get the feeling there is a select few that really really try to put an argumentative negative spin on ANY thread, now before you all start I LOVE the forum banter and everyone is allowed an opinion, it's the main reason I use this site, but I can't help thinking some people desperately try to add a opposing opinion just for the sake, you can almost see them thinking..

I'm a very argumentative northerner at times so I love digging my feet in to a good barney, but it seems some would argue that a man caught in a bank vault with a mask on might just be lost...))

Well its got a lot better, If you asked me this 7 years ago I would have said yes its bad you have to look out for some ... For a lot here its banter just passing the day and some thinking they know the lot ... I just don't read if it gets to silly.

Like sheep some threads. One goes well till one or two slag it then it snowballs into hate. Next day same topic and no negative and in hours thread closed got to big with nice posts. Columbo couldnt work that out.

i personally think the opposite,there is too much fake loving as people try to use the forum to pull,rather than say your true thoughts,people will agree for the chance it may lead to a meet.

i use forums on an unrelated to sex and people are far more open and discuss with passion

on here if you disagree you get a forum ban

I do think at times some are like sheep and will all have a go at putting the boot in at times... But it soon stop as we are lucky to have ours mods here .. Some sites you don't get that so we are lucky I feel .

With a variety of people entering any discussion will produce a variety of responses. We're all individuals but that's the great thing isn't it? I don't doubt some do argue for the sake of it, but again that's probably what they're like generally. It's all good (except if they're twits of course)

Negative, yes. OTT and unnecessary, probably. But think of it as a response to the many threads/posts that have lead him to feel that way. There are times when that is is obviously the case.

The op is right too, though. They aren't mutually exclusive. Though I'd say genuine argumentativeness is rare and sometimes a good debate is confused with this.

Generally I think that the longer a response is the more though has gone into it.

One liners are generally either banter, or judgemental, smartarsedness, or trolling. Longer ones are more likely genuine helpfulness, or a well constructed counter argument or opinion.

Personally I try get across how I intent the meaning through the textitsself. Notoriously hard though that's is. If there any doubt I find its best to as a little disclaimer.

I like to think I mostly polite and respectful, sometimes I reply to a post before really thinking my post through and I let myself down with the reply I have put on and apologise, we are all human and make mistakes.

However what does surprise me is the people who start a new Thread and become so irate and abusive if you dare to disagree with their kink making comments such as if you don't like don't read or comment! but that is the whole point of a public forum, for people to place varying _iews not just a load of agreeing ass crawling responses.

Exactly this, I got flayed alive one day on the forums then two days later one person was espousing the same argument as me on a different thread.

Some people are simply trying to manipulate arguments to flatter and curry favour, however if you spend enough time around here you spot those very quickly

Depends on the thread, but yeah, fun threads should stay fun.

Works both ways though, there are also those who try to turn a more serious thread into banter.

Both styles are fine in the 'right' place, depends rather on the content and tone of the original post.
